hi.... and welcome to the forum. There is lots of good information on this nhs site and do take a look at the 12 week plan to get you started... it's all about eating healthier. cutting out the junk.... ... watching your portion sizes & moving a bit more.
My advice is to avoid sugar & stick to natural food sources (protein/veg/dairy)... and if you can then make your food from scratch so you know what is in it rather than manufactured... then you will hopefully start to feel better and have more energy from good wholesome food.
Exercise wise just take it slowly. set yourself mini goals to achieve.. something like 'today I will walk to the 2nd lamppost on the street' (this is just an example as not sure how far you can walk but hopefully get the point) and once you feel comfortable and it's getting easier to achieve set the target to the next one... for upper body exercise maybe some chair exercises.. there is plenty of videos online if you search and that might also help with getting you started and get you stronger.
healthy eating isnt a quick fix diet but it is sustainable way to lose weight and you should be able to lose around 1-2lbs a week. This slower weight loss helps to ensure it stays off without having to add any additional weight loss aids/drinks into your body.!
Good luck with starting your new eating plan x
Hi Grannydi! I'm trying to lose for the same reason. Only 7lb off so far and I can't say it's made a difference but I'm sure it will as more goes. It's a great incentive isn't it?
When you say you can't do a long distance what exactly do you mean? I'm finding about 3 miles is my limit on a good day but I'm working on it. On a bad day ... about half a mile.
Oh well ... we'll get there!
