I just picked up couple apples today and peanut butter for lunchtime desserts. It really does taste good. I was going to pick up a couple of bananas instead, but I thought it might be too sweet to start off with. It did not make any difference because I ate one leftover large cookie with the apple and the peanut butter. Cannot seem to throw out the goodies. You see I have sweets for my nighttime snack. I just cannot do both at the same time. I do not know what to do?

a mixed start at lunchtime.
You can't do everything at once, cutting back is a good way to start
Wadestreet give yourself a few runs at making changes. It is not easy, but it is worth it. Green and 'just yellow' bananas are not so sweet. Its only when they brown off that they get really sweet, but remember the potassium you get from them. If you have a few really good days allow yourself a treat. Just don't treat yourself every day and you will do just fine. Follow the 12week plan as best you can and seek ideas from others in here for tasty meals. Good luck on your Weight loss journey.
Hi Wadestreet,
I love the combination of a banana and a few nuts, they taste really lovely together, at least to me, and can be lovey with some plain Greek yoghurt! Maybe a few walnuts, almonds, and a brazil nut - yum!
Finding tasty things you enjoy can take time, but you'll gradually find things that work for you - and it's good to take things a step at a time, and not tackle too many things at once.
Hope you have a lovely day tomorrow.
Lowcal
Thank-you lowcal. I do need to take things a step at a time and not all at once. I am all or nothing kind of person when I had that cookie with the apple/peanut butter I was crushed with failure. You read you did not put the weight in one day. So your not going to take it off in one day. I need like you said find things that work for me food. And I think my personality needs work as well. your mind has to be in the right frame of mind to be able to take that one day at a time with positivity. A mistake is a mistake and not failure. Move on and learn from it. Thanks for your words
Good morning . We can't change the habits of years in just a couple of weeks. The main thing is to keep trying. Turn the page, today is a new day!
Having read your posts over a few weeks, you do seem very hard on yourself! You sound like you are making some really positive changes and the odd cookie won't derail you. Binge eating is a serious disorder, so I understand why you are so scared of falling back into bad patterns, but go easy on yourself! It might take a while to get this right and you'll have days where things don't go so well. All you can do is pick yourself up and keep going. That's all any of us can do!
