Hi Wendy,

Welcome to the Weight Loss NhS forum. I would recommend reading the Welcome Newbie post - it's in the Pinned posts area (right-hand-side of the homepage). Many of us are following the NHS 12 week plan, so if you have a look at that and download it, you'll be able to follow a great structure and it's especially good if you sign up for the E-mail support.

We have various Challenges going on in the forum at the moment, so do join in with those, if you like the look of them and maybe join our Monday group weigh-in - it is posted weekly by myself and moreless so if you want to be notified when we post it, then maybe 'follow' us, so you'll be alerted when we do the weekly weigh-in. It's good fun, and a supportive and friendly group.

Wishing you a great weekend and a good week ahead, and good luck with all your goals.

Lowcal :-)

A year ago I couldn't sleep without pain killers for my knees, couldn't climb a hill without discomfort, was running a high risk of heart disease and diabetes...and now 3 stones lighter (a stone to go) I feel 10 years younger; can run with the dogs again, can trot up the stairs, can get in and out of the bath and can get on and off a horse too...it is so worth doing!

Get an online calorie counter and keep track of everything you eat and drink; plan your next day's meals to keep to 1500 calories and fit in some extra movement in your day - even pushing the hoover or using the stairs a few more times counts! Keep it going, just one day at a time, and chat on this forum, especially if you have a bad day, for some encouragement if needed.

Thank you, I really need the support and it helps to hear people are in the same boat, and are overcoming the weight, I too struggle sleeping due to breathing, Dont seem to be able to walk far without being in pain, dont go out anymore due to not liking what I see, 😒 so weight has stopped me living without me realizing its done it. time to take my life back, one step at a time. 😊

Hi Wendy. Sorry to hear that your weight is causing health issues. I do hope that you can use this forum to keep you motivated and on track. The first few weeks will be challenging but once you see the numbers dropping on the scales I am sure it will spur you on. Hope you can join us for the Monday weigh in. Yes it sounds like it's time to get your life back - you can do this! Best of luck :)

Hello and welcome 😊

Good planning is really helpful 😊 And like others have said the first few days are the most difficult, but remember it's a learning curve and be kind to yourself 😊

Good luck
