Welcome to the NHS Weight Loss Forum. It's a very friendly, encouraging and helpful site, where we are all on the same journey to health.
If you haven't already, please read the Welcome Newbies post. It's in the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen, (bottom if you're on a mobile). It has a link to the NHS 12 week plan, which is a great place to start. It doesn't give a specific diet plan, but gives guidelines for healthy eating. Also take a look at the Topics section beneath that, for posts that could answer any questions you may have. You may also like to check out how many calories you should have each day using the BMI checker.
Perhaps consider joining in our challenges, they're fun to do and help with motivation.
Join us for the Monday Group weigh-in. If you 'follow' Lowcal and moreless (our very approachable site Admins), you'll be notified when they post the threads. The latest weigh-in thread can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page. The weigh in is entirely voluntary, but I find it helps keep me accountable.
Be active on the forum, as that's where we exchange ideas and get our daily dose of motivation and inspiration. 😄

Plan, and more planning............as Anon has said the nhs 12 week plan is good, lots of great ideas too. Once you get your calorie allowance ( bmr calculator) you will then know how to plan my he next few weeks.
Find your weakness..........aim to tackle that, mine used to be chocolate, so I had to have that daily, and worked it into my calorie allowance.
Pictur yourself slimmer, and focus on that, the journey is tough, try not to focus too much on food too much, it's fuel. ( or carbonated /alchol)

Fully understand, it is a battle, but a worthwhile one. A good start is to try to cut out or cut right down on the "white stuff" - bread, rice, pasta and potatoes. You will notice a difference in a very short time. All good fortune with your "battle"!
Hi, I'm Cazl and have just joined and looked to see if there was anybody nearby.
I'm eating more fibre and less chocolate, crisps etc and trying to move more.. Lost 4.25 lbs in first three weeks so feeling less despondent at last. I miss cheese and ice cream . I've put the fruit bowl near the TV so that I snack on an apple or tangerine instead. Doesn't hit the spot but I'm hoping that supporting each other on here might help me.
I stopped smoking five years ago or I wouldn't have put this much weight on. I'm 55 and want to lose two stones but not get a wrinkly face or lose my cleavage!! 😀
