My name is Babynwa, losing weight is my priority because I want to have a child. I am married to my husband for 5yrs and we have been trying since the. I was told to lose weight urgently to undergo IVF. Is there anyone with similar issue,please contact me. Thanks

Hi Babynwa, I think I’ve also replied to another of your posts on a different forum. I have to lose weight before I can be accepted for a medical procedure, not the same end result, but the same problem meantime

There is a video “the skinny on obesity episode 5” about health during pregnancy, the effect on the baby, which may give you the motivation you need to lose weight BEFORE becoming pregnant. The other video episodes in the series really helped to know why I had become overweight, and suggestions at to how to change.

Hi Babynwa, when i had 2 cycles of IVF in hammersmith hospital back in 2008 and 2009 , i was told for my height, 5ft 7.5 inches I had to keep my weight at 10st 2 which I was and definitely no more than 10st 7 for my height and build. I had another cycle of IVF last november 2017 here in Türkiye this time and weight was not mentioned. That cycle also failed. We seen another doctor at another IVF centre here in Türkiye and I was told that I must loos weight! I am currently 78.1 kilo and they have asked that I get down to 60kg. They will do an IVF procedure now if we want, but we have a higher chance of succession if I am at a healthier weight. I hope this helps some. Thank you PandQs. Like you said it is a stressful time. Either way this is going to be our last time and we have also registered on the adoption register. So we will to the have 1/2/3 children, whether from IVF/adoption or both. Thank you all for your good wishes.
