I'll 'introduce' myself as ever battling with my continuing weight gain and loss.
I'm constantly at war with myself and it's exhausting, the emotional tug of war over that 150g bag of crisps I just ate...
I've never joined a forum or group, and hoping everyone can convince me that the struggle is all too real else where.
At times I try really hard, painfully shunning a miniature hero, ignoring the haribo and declining the offer of a slice of fleshly baked carrot cake... Only for efforts to be ignored by my body and remain the same God damn weight.

I think we're all here because we've faced the same battle. Everyone has their strategies, but I would really like to recommend the NHS 12-week plan as a good place to start. I was in the same place as you, yo-yoing but not knowing what to do to change. The 12-week plan gave me the structure to see where I was going wrong and what I can do about it. If nothing else, have a look as it's full of great advice and tips.
I started at 15 stone (I'm 5'7") In mid-January and am now 12 stone 5. It's been slow, but I also feel that I'm learning skills and habits that will see me through when I do finally reach my goal. 1 to 2 pounds a week is sustainable for future maintenance (when I get there ) and just see how much that's added up in the last 7 or 8 months!
Hi good advice from VickyDLM I totally agree the 12 week plan is good and re educates you into a different mindset.
Don't deny yourself that miniature hero but add it in your calorie allowance, believe me I used to sit and eat half a dozen chocolates took about 2 mins, never thought about the calories then I started adding them in my allowance and you soon change your mind on what you eat when you see the number go up, don't get me wrong I have the odd treat here and there but it is always added in. It is your mindset you have to change that in turn looses you the weight.
