Hi all my name is Bob, I'm a 61 year old woman who is always on a diet but has never successfully kept the weight off! So I'm hoping I will do well with weight loss nhs. I'm a comfort eater, have been most of my adult life. Look forward to chatting and getting advice from you, any help would be gratefully received. Bob

Hi Bob,
Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum, we hope you'll feel very welcome here!
I want to introduce you to some links and info that will help make your experience here as good as it possibly can be!
The NHS 12 Week plan is good - a new challenge started today to do with it - you can find that here:
healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
A team of members here run a Monday weigh in each week, it is posted by Zest first thing in the morning and in the early afternoon each Monday, here are yesterday's posts:

Also, the "Welcome Newbies" thread is good as it gives lots of tips from members of the community - we're all going through the same thing. That's here: healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
Hope this has been useful to you - keep us updated and good luck
Have a good evening
Rob
Hi Bob,
I'd also like to Welcome you, and in addition to the links RobLandsdown91 has given you, I'd like to mention that we have started a new challenge that might suit you - basically doing the NHS 12 week plan as a group - and the details are here:
healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
Some of us are older timers (i.e. been in the community a while) on here (like myself) and others are newbies (like you!), and I think the Challenge would be great for any of us who fancy giving the plan a go - i.e. starting, like yourself, or 're-booting' like me and a few others! So do join us if you fancy doing so.
Enjoy the forum and hope to see you around and about.

Hello
I'm Coming up to my 55th birthday next week and I am finally starting to feel confident of achieving permanent weight loss 😊
What has helped is getting my head in the right place, I read everything I can about weight loss, weight management and the psychology of over-eating. Personal favourite is the foodforfitness.co.uk blog and podcasts. (There was a recent one on comfort /emotional eating) Research is key. Having been overweight since I was a child I now feel I am finally gaining control and have truly developed "lean habits" . 😊
Very best wishes and good luck
Hi Bob, I've just started too, after years of failure I'm hoping this will be my success story, i think this site will be good for both of us good luck x
Hi Jen, I really hope so! Going to give it my best shot. Good luck to you to. X
Hi Bob. Just found this site, I'm a dreadful comfort eater but I so deperaterly want to lose my 5 stone and start to feel well and feel good about myself again. I have lost 10.5Ibs over the last 4 weeks which I'm really pleased about but I do have an awful long way to go. Good luck to you. xx
Well done you! You have made a brilliant start Amber. I know all about comfort eating! Been doing it most of my adult life, and I don't think I can change that. So I'm going to try to manage it better be aware of what I'm putting in my mouth. I'm setting myself small goals, one pound a week and if I loose more, well that's a bonus! I have a long way to go Amber, but I think slow and steady is the way forward for me. Good luck on your journey, we can do this!!! 👍
Hi Les1079, I eat when I'm happy, sad, lonely any excuse that's me. But I'm very determined to change this practise, it's not going to be easy but I am prepared to try my hardest. I have along way to go, 4-5 stone so this is going to be a long journey, but if I can loose 4-5Ibs a month I will be extremely happy.
Good luck on your journey, how can we fail with all the support on this site.
Have a great week. xx🍀🍀xx
