Starting today with the NHS plan after yo-yo-ing with other diets for many years! Have a few health issues including Scoliosis and Psoriatic Arthritis. Struggle to exercise as too much pain. Car accident triggered weight gain again as so immobile for a while (and I comfort eat!) after finally having managed to lose the weight I gained from having children! But that was 10 years ago now!! I Really need to stick to it this time now as I've even put on another stone since the Arthritis really took hold last year. On medication now and trying to get my step count to be above 5000 each day so that I keep moving! Feel like with these meds I've been given another chance and I don't want to blow it but I am a little nervous that it will just go the way of the other things I've tried! Will be so much better for my health to be lighter though!!
How does anyone else deal with comfort eating to deal with pain?
12st 11lbs starting weight and only 5ft 2in tall!!😏

Good luck Miggis! I'm also starting today (see my post). I really want to make this work and am hoping for some advice from members about my lack of staying power and motivation. I've also been on here, on and off, for a few years, and have been on most diets....my best trick is buying diet books in the hope that the one I have is going to change my life....then I'll decide it's too complicated/expensive/difficult......so another few weeks wasted. I'm going to sit down now with my coffee and meal plan for the week over a coffee. I used to do this but got out of the habit. I'm hoping for some advice from people who have been in this rut and gotten out of it, so please do follow my post as any replies will be good for us both. Again...good luck Miggis, we've both taken a first step this morning!
I also have arthritis and find exercise problematic, and gained even more weight following minor surgery last June. But something had to change 😊
Calories in versus calories burned is most important for weight loss, the exercise keeps me mobile and hopefully helps burn fat more effectively. I swim when I can and recently bought an exercise bike. 😊
The changes to my health and fitness after losing weight are incredible and keep me focuses and motivated 😊 If I can do it anyone can, just believe in yourself 😊 Good luck and very best wishes
