I've posted twice on this forum and twice I've been shot down in flames - once by someone who got angry that they thought I was blaming my doctor for my weight gain (I wasn't, all i said was he refused to weigh me) and the other who, when I - like a dog with two tails - announced i had lost four pounds gave me a lecture about how rapid weight loss was a bad idea and low calorie diets were ditto. If he'd bothered to read my post he'd have seen that I'm on low CARB not low calorie and I've been eating nearly 2k a day.
so i'm off. I'm not posting here any more - it's far too negative for me, I need to be in a place where people genuinely want to encourage.

Well I'm sorry if you feel that my comment was "shooting you down in flames".
But in fact I was mainly agreeing with the content of your post, but also emphasising the risks - which I have done on various occasions on this blog - of rapid weight loss.
I hope you have a successful and safe weight loss journey.
Hope all goes well on your weight loss journey have to admit I've sometimes had not so positive comments including a famous monkey minded, and saying i have a childlike response to my eating habits. But life is full of negative people and I am a firm believer in what goes around comes around. I know a lot of other dieters will have been on this journey at least once, possibly had fab weight loss, changed habits blah blah blah but life isn't always constant and things happen and habits change as emotions do and then the real challenge happens to be not just losing but keeping it off! Well done on finding eating plan that works well for you, I've also found low carbs is better for me, wish you'd stay around as good to have diff points if view.
I'm sorry you've had a negative experience. I understood what you were saying about the first comment as I agreed with you, it was too negative and totally inappropriate, when you weren't blaming scales for a lack of weight loss but an inability to weigh yourself accurately. I also believe that it was members of this forum that shot them down and supported you. Losing too much weight too fast is a danger and we need to be careful, it doesn't mean that people aren't pleased with your success and wish you well. Good luck on your journey, whatever you decide to do.
No u can't go, I just looked at the video it was really interesting and usefull
Everyone has diff opinions on here so what someone might find interesting n helpfull u can guarantee on here ur hear the opposite too, we're all sorts.
That video has made me think, anyway got to go now want to look at the rest of the site.
hiya ....i've just started my first week ....and read your post .....that 4lb you lost must have been your first week ? which i must say that is brilliant well done .....on the other hand i try but i'm the worlds worst slimmer so i need encouragement and positiveness....i hope you do well .....:..:-)....
Dont matter if you need to loose 2lb 2 Stone or 20stone if you feel you need to lose weight you will probably always need to loose weight. The min you stop trying to loose weight,, you will put it back on. Loseing weight is a life cycle if you eat it you need to burn iT OFF. I put it on when my back is bad never when im mobile but I find it impossible to lose then. I think most people need to find out what causes the weight gain. Is it what they eat. Is it they dont burn the calories they have eaten. Dieting is only a short term solution to lose weight. I think mostly we need to just be honest with our self (thats not as easy as it seems.) Often we dont even have friends who will tell us the truth. They often tell us how good we look or what wonderful skin we have or what a great smile we have. Very few say you have put a few pounds on shall we start walking. MY friends are more likely to turn up with a cream cake becuse they feel sorry for me. and to be honest the fat friend is no competion on a girls night out. When I was young I was big. But I was big where most people liked it lol Now I am old and the weight is dangerous to my health. Even my Doctor tell me he belives weight is genetic (he has a bit of a weight problem as well lol ) lol it might well be but becuse my mum was big it dont help my health problems now. I know all the diet rules. tricks foods. Whats the expresion been there got the Tshirt. There not a diet club I have not joined. Ive worn the pig of the week badge and the star of the week. had blue fat bust pills and yucky milk shakes and gross soup like (I wont say what its like) .
I gave up dieting just before christmas I have now lost 18k the 2 best tools for a diet are a smaller dinner plate and a couple of giant mirrors I look in as soon as I sit down. Both tell me the truth. Dont use home scales. use Boots or some where out side. SO your not weighing each day, once every 2 weeks or a month is plenty. If your going to start walking or exercising remember that muscle weighs more than fat so expect to put on a bit of weight as your fat turns in to muscle. One last tip if you have a favorite bar of choclate or cake dont go with out it or your more likely to cheat on the diet. Buy a bar for sat night have a treet time only have the smallest bar or slice of cake and give most of it to a friend your allowed a bit to say well done once a week. Remember its not a diet its a small life style change its going to be a change that will last a long time. Remember its ok to have that curry but tomorrow is payback time. you need to work it off. not me. I HAVE DIETED FOR 40 YEARS ON AND OFF..........There has to be an eaiser way..............
