I am new to this site, but also new to loosing weight in a healthy way.
I have lost weight before, ie, lived of weight loss shakes and spending 3 hours a day at the gym and yes I got down to 68kg but I was not healthy.
Today I am 98kg and am also not healthy so trying to get over my Bing eating (easier said then done) and get a little bit nicer to myself.
Everyday I see myself in the mirror and all I can think is "bloody hippo" and then I get to work, get bored and eat lots of snacks, and I mean lots:
1 can of pringles
1 bag of haribos
1 big chocolate bar
5 large cookies
Its time to change this. I thought by sharing my journey I will keep myself busy at work, which means less time to eat and also keep me liable for the struggles I go through and the decisions I make.
So, Hi you can call me Caz, I am very happy to be here and I do hope that together we can all be healthier and nicer to ourselves
Thanks for reading 😊

I strongly suggest you read and contribute to the Daily Diary and participate in a Weekly Weigh in. You will find there's loads of tips about better eating, from other members. Sharing your daily menu not only helps you stay committed, it can help other members too.
You're very welcome Caz, why don't you visit the weekly weigh in today, as you know your starting weight. Just reply to our host for this week, FamilyTree67
I sure will! Just at work at the moment, so planning on doing weigh in this evening and either post it tonight or tomorrow morning when I am back in the office, being on here helps with the no snacking at work so might leave it for tomorrow morning to tick two at once
Hi Caz good advice from our admins above. Look forward to seeing you on our weekly weigh in group. You will get lots of support and encouragement from the members on here. Some days are quieter than others but you will find a day which is better for you . The hosts work on a rota and are here for a week at a time.
I get really annoyed at any company that sells 'diet' shakes . Nobody obviously can have them long term and I feel then we start thinking we have been punished thus craving ' rewards etc . I can only eat what I buy so I shop less , with a list and that will power is encouraged by bringing in healthier snacks to work like a handful of almonds or walnuts , a small tub of fruit salad and saving money by not going out to the local supermarket at lunch time . Working at home then get them ready in tubs the night before but ensure you build them into a sensible eating plan so these snacks aren't going to be almost as bad as the ones you had before.
I actually stopped eating anything but 3 meals a day - decent meals with variety on a 450 . 450. 600 cal plan using Myfitnesspal free app for guidance . I can sustain this without being bored but I realise sometimes you may want a snack which then you have eaten and its satisfied the thoughts and hunger.
Great though that you have a bit of spare time for exercise which I always get more of in a group . So I do Zumba then weather permitting a walking group . Even Aqua gym - something different then a 'see you next week ' prompts me to book the next class . I know gyms are pricey but if you add up your list of your snacks and think a gym with pool is normally no more than £40 a month then I know where my money is going plus those diet shakes ain't cheap .
I find food alone wouldn't help me do anything but maintain my current weight but exercise in combo with a sensible food regime really works as I now have at least 4 others who follow similar to me but now I am older I need this routine to maintain the healthier weight I want and it helps me mentally too .I personally get quite depressed when I am piling on the pounds and soon kick myself plus I have made some really good friends . We don't talk weight we just go mad at Zumba and feel 200% better afterwards .
Good luck with your new start and you are not alone . Bossy me sez ditch any diet shakes please !
