I'm a 58-year-old newbie who has taken the plunge after looking at the 12 week NHS Choices plan online. I think I need a community to keep me on track so here I am. I got on the scales for the first time in ages to discover I'm 14st 4lb. Assuming I'm not going to grow a foot taller, it's time to take some action! So with some trepidation, here goes. The Monday Weigh-In looks a good community starter for me....

Hi, and welcome. You might find it helpful to track what you have eaten and drunk using an online calorie counter such as Myfitnesspal or Nutracheck? Modern technology makes weight loss so much easier these days!
Hello and good luck! There is lots of helpful advice and support on here 😊 Check out the Newbies post and all the challenges too 😊 Have a bit of confidence in your own ability to do this and you will succeed 😊 Best wishes
I've also just started. Same weight and couple more years. I'm finding it really helpful to write everything down. We can do this!
Just wanted to say hi and all the best for the journey ahead! I would just add to plan some nice low calorie foods in advance and also some tasty low cal snacks to keep food cravings at bay. It feels so nice to lose the weight and to get fitter. Good luck!!
Hello. I turned 58 a couple of weeks ago and have decided to start the 12 week plan tomorrow. I have now thrown or given away the unhealthy food in the house. Going food shopping shortly. I am addicted to cakes, biscuits and chocolate so will find it difficult until I get over the sugar cravings. I work in an office and there is always someone snacking on sweets or crisps. I know it is not going to be easy but I feel I am now ready to do something about my weight so here goes.
