Ok here goes. Hi *waves* I've not been blind to the fact I'm obese, I think I've chosen to ignore it, even through the severe feet pain, knee pain and back pain..I ignored it, now I've high blood pressure and some other things going on. But now I think I'm at a point that I've realised I'm basically slowly killing myself, I'm depressed, have severe anxieties, basically I'm broken. If it was as easy and healthy eating and exorcise everybody would be at a healthy weight, it's not easy, it's hard, and I don't know where to start to be honest. I need to lose 10 stone and that's so daunting to me. I walk every day with my dogs, I don't like social situations so slimming clubs are a big no no, I can't do anymore than walk, I tried jogging last year and literally could only do twenty steps before knee pain and chest bursting! I'm so unfit, gah please give me you exorcise tips for someone that truly struggles, thanks for reading.

Newbie here, needing exorcise advice,
You do it one step at a time π And no, it's not easy, but with this friendly forum and lots of inspiring success stories you can do it! After all, what is the alternative?
So hello Paulapips36 and welcome π You will recieve an official welcome from admin soon but in the meantime, check out the Newbies post, download the NHS 12 week plan, work out you BMR which will indicate how many calories you should be eating (probably more than you would expect, mine certainly was π) and off you go towards the life you want to live πππ
Walking my dog is now one of my pleasures in life, not a hot sweaty chore π Good luck and very best wishes
Hi, brisk walking is the best exercise and building up gradually is important. It's good that you are walking your dogs outside in the fresh air but to top that up try Leslie Sansones 1 mile indoor walk and 1 mile happy walk, you will find them on You Tube. That's how I started, it makes you feel good! Good luck!
Hi and welcome Paula
IndigoBlue61 and Caz28 have given you great advice and I'm just going to add my bit Anything that gets you off your couch and moving, is good exercise! It doesn't matter what it is, as long as you enjoy doing it and can see yourself still doing it in a year's time
Have a look at the Welcome newbie thread, which can be found in the Pinned Posts section to the right of your screen, along with many motivating and fun challenges and a smashing collection of recipes

Hi Paula everyone above has given you fantastic advice so welcome to the forum, we all help each other along the way, I have a lot to loose too but there are some people on here who have lost so much weight they are truly inspirational. Yes you have 10 stone to loose but you have the rest of your life to do it, next week it won't be 10 but 9 stone something and going down all the time. It is hard but with determination you can do this and we will all help as best we can, I am on the 12 week plan and it is quite easy to follow why not give it a go the only thing you have got to loose is weight! ππ
Hi Paula, welcome!
I suggest you don't look at it in one big lump. Personally, I find the whole far to much to handle. But smaller goals feel much more achievable and therefore more motivating. You could start with just a few pounds before a special event or maybe aim to meet exercise or calorie targets. That's the great thing about the 12-week plan, you can use it as a general structure to find what works best for you.
Good luck and I know you're at the start of a more healthy future.
Another cheer on from me, of course you can do this, but set small manageable goals, little increments, and record your journey. My journey began with couch to 5k, which begins with 1min running intervals with walking between, but the same system can be applied to other ways of exercising, e.g. 1min brisk walking, then slow down for 90 secs, then 1 min brisk walking again, then the following week do longer sessions for the brisk walking bit. Your dogs might think something's up, but hopefully they'll adapt πΎ Also I definitely recommend following the 12 week plan, calculate your calorie allowance using the NHS bmi calculator, and post on here for support
Thank you all so much for your replies, it means a lot to know I'm not alone in this mammoth journey xxxxx
