Hi Peggy76,

I remember responding to one of your previous posts a couple of months ago.  I hope you're doing ok.

You've titled your post 'Weight loss for healthy heart and kidneys' - and written 'NHS diets' in the body of the post.  I'm not sure what you're specifically asking therefore.

This is the Weight Loss NHS community forum, and many of us are following the NHS 12 week plan here - and there are lots of resources in the NHS Choices website that cover various health conditions too.  You might like to have a look around the resources there to see if anything is pertinent to your own requirements.

I would like to give you a link to the healthy eating page:

nhs.uk/Livewell/Goodfood/Pa...

as a possible starting point?  You can also search for different things in the top right-hand window, labelled 'Search Weight Loss NHS'.

Hope this is a helpful starting point, but I would also recommend discussing your own  specific health needs and any potential diets with your GP, to enable you to ensure you are meeting your own health requirements and needs.

Hope this is helpful.

Lowcal :-)

Hi Peggy,

Great, I'm glad you came back into our forum, and I would like to give you a link to our Welcome Newbie post as well, as it has lots of helpful information in it:

healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

Please do join in with anything you would enjoy here in the forum, and do have a look at our Pinned posts area too (top right-hand-side of the forum) as there is an extensive recipe section there too, with various ideas for meals and some great recipes there as well.

We also have a Monday weigh-in group, if you like the idea of a weekly weigh-in.  I realise that's not everyone's cup of tea, but you'd be very welcome to join us, if you feel it would help to motivate you with your weight loss goals.

Don't hesitate to post and ask questions - it's a friendly and supportive community.

Take care,

Lowcal :-)

Hello Peggy

If you click on my name you will see my story, but briefly I started losing weight last August primarily to help mobility, I was in a very black place in pain and discomfort 😕

My life is so different now, I wish I could bottle it and give you some 😊 I still wake up stiff and achy but have found gentle exercise and stretches really helpful, as well as weight loss.

This is a great site with lots of practical advice, good luck!
