I'm also starting today . My heaviest weigh in. 15 stone 9 . Going for a nice long walk today . Good luck
Best of luck to both of you. Getting started is probably the hardest thing to do.
I agree the first two weeks are the hardest.
Hi Dawnie68,
Hope you enjoy the regular walks with your dogs - that's great exercise.
Hope you have a great week ahead.
Lowcal
Go for it. I started in September and I have lost 3 stone. I still have a lot to go and it is hard to keep going at times. But once you start you start. There are quite a few of us with a bit to loose and we are definately with you.
Best of look to u you stared myself three weeks an nearly 12 pounds lost.it will get easier.☺
You are right, you can do this
Day 11 and lost just over 7lb last week, on tuesday morning this week had a major blip and gained 1.2 back. Pleased to say now gone again, suspect it was a no toilet situation mixed with fluid building up in my newly exercised joints
You can do it and still eat. Made celery and onion soup today so that is tonights starter with poached salmon to follow num. Decided to start separating into two courses to stretch the experience out. I use sugar free jellies to give myself a treat, eating fewer now and settling into a routine As its week 2 and want the loss to slow down I have increased the fruity treats , strawberries and cherries to nibble just 4 per day in times of doubt (they are very big strawberries ;). I am going for low cal, no simple carbs.
Good luck for a successful weight loss journey. I started at 19.1 and have lost 60lbs so far - roughly half way to target and I feel so much better!
Welcome Dawnie68. Hope you managed a lovely dog walk yesterday.
It is hard to start, but everyone on here is super nice and have lots of lovely ideas to help you. Take it one day at a time. A real eye opener for me was weighing food and discovering that my portion sizes were often more than twice the size that were on the packet. I also think it helps to have snacks and meals at a set time and try really hard to stick at it. Having said that don't beat yourself up if you have a bad day as it can make you more determined the next day.
Good luck to you and maybe hear from you at one of the online weigh ins.

Dawnie, please don't feel disgusted in yourself.
You weigh, what you weigh.
Some people feel disgusted weighing 10 stone !
Some people feel disgusted weighing over 21 stone.
All that counts ( in my opinion ), is that you want to make a change. What is wrong with that ? NOTHING !
Make a start. Lose whatever you can. It's all about taking things in your stride.
Keep going at it, and don't give in.
Best of luck,
Sand.
