Its 6 weeks since i began my journey (again) on this site and its going well! Im 8.6lbs down and fitter than ive ever been.

Looking back when i was younger my emphasis was on being "thinner" or looking "skinnier". Now im in my 40's my priority is to be fitter and "leaner"....i dont want to be thin...i want to be strong!

I have more patience now and am prepared to work hard to reach my goals...i dont expect a quick fix anymore. This in turn has taken pressure off and im enjoying the small victories each week....loosing a lb (in the past i would have been disappointed with that!), being able to run an extra km, feeling a looser waistband!

So i reached my first mini goal of getting into the 11stone bracket...i had given myself to March and achieved it this morning. My next goal is going to be to get to 11 stone and i would like to achieve that by the end of April πŸ˜€

Have a good week everone πŸ˜€

Well done, you sound like you have got your head round this and there is no stopping you. Its always better to be fit than thin and you seem to be well on your way.

I'm on week 7 now and i lost 1lb this week so i'm 11.13 which feels great so i'm looking forward to getting to 11.7 which is my next target.

Your doing really well keep up the good work and have a great week. x

Congratulations. My reasons for losing weight have changed as I've got older too. In my 20's and 30's it was all about vanity and social acceptance whereas now it's about being fitter and healthier. I feel now that I'm doing this for myself and not for others. Good luck on your journey.

Well done. I`ve also found as I have got older it`s not all about being thin. I can`t tell you how many times I have been to slimming club`s, got to target weight and put it all back in a year or so. Now I am a lot older than you but I want to be as able bodied as I can be for as long as I can and of course look the best I can. I have been watching this forum for a year now. I am a stone lighter than I was at first and like you now happy with a pound a week loss. It`s a marvellous boost when people say I don't look my age and how fast they see me walking. Once you get it into your head that you are doing this journey for yourself alone, I think that`s the key. Not for hubby, not for the party, not because someone said you should, but because you want too. One step at a time. However slow the loss it all adds up. Congratulations on reaching your first goal. keep up the good work and I`m sure you will reach your second.
