It was a challenge when I went shopping yesterday not to buy a packet of crisps. The damned things are always on offer and I love a bargain. But I didn't buy - yay for me
My pledge today is to eat my dinner by 7pm if not earlier.
I managed to do my 15 reps of the squats, press-ups and sit-ups yesterday, even though I didn't particularly feel like doing them - the pledge helped to galvanise me into action.
Lowcal thanks so much for motivating me to do press up I did 20 plus bridges and squats. I thought i must compete you. Sorry. Well done for doing your press ups ect!
I am really happy to hear you did those exercises - I think sometimes a sense of competition can be healthy, so I am flattered you felt like doing that.
I was reading in the Daily Mail today that sit-ups aren't necessarily recommended these days, so I did some 'cycle crunches' instead of that particular move - they were mentioning that the action of doing 'sit-ups' can aggravate the back, and are not good for women who have recently given birth - so it made me a bit cautious (from the point of view of protecting my back, not the giving birth bit, as I haven't done that!).
Anyway, I'm glad you did those press-ups plus bridges and squats.
I have done mine today - 20 of each, so feeling good!
Well done Liz and Lowcal...every little helps π
My pledge for today is not to nibble on any offcuts of the cakes im working on today...always a danger zone! Its hard losing weight when you are a baker ππ
I was reading that quickly fizzyliz and thought it said to be slmmer by 7pm! Blimey!!π
Well done everyone on the progress made with pledges yesterday. I was in bed, lights out at 10.15. Will keep going with that this week without it being a pledge.
My pledge today is not to eat anything after I have had my dinner. Nothing. Zero.
I have managed to cut out snacks (albeit at home) mid-morning and I never have one in the afternoon. Evenings are a munchies problem.
So just for today, once I have eaten my dinner there will be no more food until Friday.
Well I'm pledging to keep to my fast day today and I did manage to keep my pledges for yesterday. The only time I have Coke is as a cocktail so that also meant no
alcohol yesterday As well as no cake or cheese.
I managed my pledge too - had lunch closer to 2 than 1, and spread out my snacks, but was still very hungry by 10:30 when I got back home. I reheated some of my own veg stew (as opposed to shop bought) which hadn't been successful first time round. This time I started it with a tsp olive oil, half a red onion and a few halved mushrooms, and added a little tamari sauce at the end. Improved it a lot and I still stayed within 1400 cals for the day.
My pledge tonight is no alcohol. My stomach has been reacting to it lately. But tonight my boyf isn't at mine, and when I'm on my own I'm more likely to end up getting a bottle on the way home. But I won't do that today. Good luck everyone
Love this new daily challenge. I've managed both for the last couple of days but didn't manage my daily goal of 8km so that's my challenge for today. Feel a bit under the weather plus have a hair appointment taking up time so will have to put a bit of effort in to meet my 8km.
Good luck to everyone for today
It got soooo close yesterday- i did that fatal thing of shopping when hungry- in 4 shops of temptation and if that wasnt enough i left something at one of them and had to drive back (totally embarrassing!) Still i made it home without a single piece of junk- even celebrated with some purple sprouting- yuuummmm!
later i decided to make some energy balls from "Deliciously Ella" wow- theyre so lovely although i adapted recipe to make it lower fat and had to beat the cr4p out of the dates as i dont have a food processor- but they turned out lovely and healthy without the nasty chemicals of shop bought stuff- and i got a workout in the preparation too- trying to eat clean nowadays ; )
Anyway before i ramble on too long today my pledge is to eat clean again and mostly plant based
I want to stick to my calorie allowance today - yesterday I broke it by 200 cals but it wasn't through eating bad food, so at least thats a good thing
My goal today is to drink 2 litres of water. I haven't been drinking enough recently but I know from past experience that the more you drink, the more you can drink.
My pledge is just to re portion food, a more normal helping, and lower cal snacks, tried lentil ones, as opposed to normal ones, shaves 36 cals of a packet, a little difference
The early night challenge continues ... baby steps..! Last night I had a bath at 10pm and was in bed by 10.15pm, rest of family clattering round still so carried on reading till just after 11pm. At least I was in the right place! Will try again this evening.
