Good morning everyone, how are you all doing? Hopefully a fabby week has been had and positive vibes are sparking this forum with a dazzling firework display.
I have had a lovely week, 4 days at a spa in Llangollen ( amazing meals), a visit to 5 brothers and sisters on the Friday ( tea, cake and biscuits at each stop, eek) before heading back to Lincolnshire late Friday night. Hallow'een shenanagins on Saturday ( anyone for pumpkin soup, pumpkin pie, pumpkin scones and pumpkin buscuits?), then yesterday was my 48th birthday. I celebrated in style....... 3 x 90 minute lectures and 2 tours of Sheffield Hallam Uni!!! Ohhh I know how to party, lol. My daughter is planning on going to SHU next year and their tour/courses day happened to land on my birthday, hey ho.. her future is far more important than a lazy day of pampering. I was taken out for a lovely meal by the children last night though, I had a starter and a main but just drank soda water.
So weigh day this morning was done with my eyes shut tight, fingers crossed and a silent prayer. When I squinted down through one half open eye I was pleasantly surprised to see I had lost 1lb. Yes, I agree, not a particularly great figure, but a loss is a loss. I really expected a gain considering the last weeks over enjoyment, so I will take that 1lb loss with a smile and a little jig, thankyou very much indeed, lol.
It is back to the daily grind today with my first shift of five this week tonight. I am going to make an extra effort with my food choices and try and up the exercise a bit now I am feeling better from my little health blip a few weeks ago. I go to Harrogate for the weekend of 11/12/13 December for the foodie festival ( 2 night hotel stay with a friend too), that is just under 6 weeks away and I would like to aim for a 14lb loss by then.
Have a great week ahead folks, keep the losses rolling and the positivity sparking. ππ
A very Happy Birthday for yesterday, and glad you've had a lovely time away. Sounds like you had a great time. Great that you lost 1 pound despite being away and having your Birthday, that is amazing!
Wow, Foodie festival in Harrogate to look forward to in December - that sounds great.
Good luck with your weight loss goals for December.
Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you.................Dear ShellieL
You're sounding so bright and perky, your week away must have been perfect and losing a pound too, is the cherry on the cake
Good luck for losing a stone in time for your foodie festival
Thanks hunny. I will be trying my utmost to meet the 14lb target. Hope you have a lovely week moreless. π
Happy birthday Shellie, even if things feel a little bittersweet at the moment. It is still your birthday, and you are definitely finding positives within a phase where things still don't seem fully under control, so you should feel good. Your 1lb loss is ace considering that you're recovering from a pretty serious health scare, which I do feel you're underplaying quite a lot. Be easy on yourself. I've no doubt you have the willpower and determination to achieve that ambitious 14lb loss in the next 6 weeks, but bear in mind it's reliant on you being at full capacity, and not getting over-tired/over-wrought. Be easy on yourself if things don't go to plan. In the meantime enjoy your pumpkin soup. I have a leek and a potato in the fridge. Just need to get pumpkin and red curry sauce and I'm away. Thinking of you, and sending lots of good vibes

Cheers hun. I am trying to be sensible for a change, honestly I am - mostly anyway π. No point in dwelling on what has happened, just focusing on how I can minimise it happening again hopefully.
My pumpkins were 50p each at Morrisons, supposedly small ones but were more or less the same size as the 'big Β£2' ones. I always use little battery neon lights in my carved ones so that I can cook them after being used for display - truly thrifty lol. The red curry paste gives a nice heat to the soup, but a teaspoon of generic curry powder is nice instead.
Heyyyy, never belittle any loss, you lost two packs of butter, that is fantastic! And it's all going in the desired direction in the long run so celebrate every loss! Just don't celebrate it with hefty food and wine tho lol
If you think of it in pads of butter terms, then yes 1lb is quite an achievement, lol. I am happy with any loss, it is a small but significant step in the right direction. Hope your week is progressing well hun. π
