The birthday binge reporting in!

Hey ho so today is my daughters birthday! I've been looking forward to it as it is an excuse to go off plan with my diet haha! And have cake!!! I'm not crazy about cake but having not had any for a very long time (April lol) I want some today!

Anyways I am looking to report in here this week to see what happens over the week! Will my new slimmer body grab on to the calories or shoo them away quicker than in the ol' fat-me days?

So today is my weigh day! A fab 2lb loss. Weighing in at 9st 11lbs!!

Tomorrow? Will see how much I put on!!

So far I went for a 35 min walk and had peanut butter on toast (1/2 slice) and 2 party rings for breakfast. For lunch am having a crumpet and some soup. Then the bad calories will begin! Lol.

Hope you really enjoy your daughter’s birthday cake! Hope she has a lovely day. Just beware the cake doesn’t trigger a sugar craving. If I have cake, I have a cup of tea ready to drink with it. I have found that stifles the cravings, and stops one piece leading to another! 🎂

I know you'll have a good time CrimsonMama and Happy Birthday to your daughter.

Someone (maybe you) kind of summed this up the other day with a quote that says 'everything in moderation, including moderation'.

What's a party ring?

CrimsonMama in reply toTiggerr

Haha a party ring is a little biscuit with icing on top. Only 24 calories for one! I usually take two to work to nibble. Lol

Ahhh, I know what you're talking about, although I haven't seen them in donkey's years.

I buy them for the kids sometimes then noticed whoa they are pretty low in calorie! Lol

Happy birthday to your daughter.

Do you already know what cake it is going to be?

Anyway, go for that 🍰 cake!!! 😉

May be useful to eat it slowly to give it time to 'settle'.

OK first reporting in!! Didn't get time for crumpet and soup which was probably a good thing! Had a great day! But very long and tiring! Had a wonderful scone with jam and clotted cream at the cave place we visited! Lots of walking! Then later had Burger King (why on why did I go for a big burger instead of basic cheeseburger?) AND vanilla milkshake (like a billion calories!) And then squeezed in a very small piece of cake! Which was OK but really the build up was way above reality and thankfully I won't be left craving more!

I feel as heavy as a house right now and I won't be surprised if I am at LEAST 5lbs heavier tomorrow! But I'm about to go out for a walk before bedtime and looking forward to my "normal" calories tomorrow! Lol

sounds like you had a lovely day and scone with cream and jam is one of my favourites. it was a special day so why not, youl get back to your healthy eating tomorrow and soon melt that cake. if any left to tempt you then hide it away. happy birthday to your daughter and good luck for the week :-)

Hope you enjoyed the day.

Ive not had cake for ages!

I hope you enjoy the party and the cake. I also hope that the cake lives up to your expectations. When I have experienced this kind of thing, the thought of the food item is not matched by the delivery, and I have been left feeling cheated. So please keep your expectations realistic to avoid disappointment.

Haha I know! But its a good lesson! From this experience and previous I now know when you really really crave something the payoff for giving in to it is 95% imaginary so it helps to avoid giving in in future!

Thanks for understanding what I was trying to say. It could have been interpreted as me trying to put a downer on the occasion. I hope everything is good.

Enjoy! But I'd wait 2 days before weighing in because the next day you'll only be weighing the remaining food in your tum, I reckon it takes a couple of days for the body to actually process the food - then you'll really know if you've gained or not. Happy birthday to your daughter!

I’m glad you & your daughter had a good day , I’m sure any gain will be gone by Friday. You have to be able to have a treat every now & again especially on a birthday xx

Reporting in number two! Wow! Already my weight is back down to 9.12. Only 1lb to lose to get back to my pre-birthday weight.

I know I shouldn't weigh daily but this is the experiment! I want to see what happens!

I ate a little under my normal weekend calorie limit yesterday but only by like 10 calories lol. But I went out for three good walks and did 45 mins on my treadmill (is usually 40 mins).

Monday I am planning an 800 calorie fast day to give myself a boost. I am back at work so that will keep me busy so it shouldn't be too hard! But if I do want more calories I will let myself. I am not going to let myself go hungry! Haha. I am so close to my goal now (9.6) I am not going to stress it!

But finding this interesting as what I ate was crazy! My belly was physically hurting that evening and was probably like 3000 calories that day! Which I won't be eat on maintainance! So if my body can handle those extra calories it bodes well for when I go onto weight-maintainance and increase my calories gradually daily!

Wow that's fab CrimsonMama! Well done for getting back on track and shifting the party food.

Isn't it amazing how out taste buds change. Not that long ago I would have really enjoyed lots of things that now, when I actually have a bit, taste disappointing and not how I remember them at all!

It sounds like you all had a wonderful day for your daughter's birthday, and life is for living so those foods were all part of it. X

Fab news! I am back to 9.11 today! Already! So despite the party binge I not only recovered faster than I used to but I might even lose a lb by weigh day!

I am certain all the exercise I do and muscle I have gained has made a huge difference to how I hold onto and burn calories!

I clearly remember in the past putting on like 4-5lbs after a 'treat' binge like this and it would take two or three weeks to get back to where I was! That was more when I used to just diet and not exercise. It would mess with my motivation to stick to the diet and I would end up giving it up altogether then starting over months later. Usually back at square one!
