1lb loss!

Hi, week 1 on the NHS plan and I've lost 1lb! I must say that I am a little disappointed because the last time I tried the diet I lost 6lbs in the first week but I found that being so strict on myself led me to giving up. I will not give up this time. 1lb is still a loss. I had friends over and drunk a lot on Saturday night which is where I believe I went wrong, totalling my calories for that day at 5000. No parties this week! My aim for next week is to stick to my calorie count (between 1500 and 1900) and begin the Couch to 5k. I hope all is going well for everyone else! Thank you for reading. :D

Hi Mon3, I'm a newbie like you now on week 3 and in the same calorie range as you. I average 1650 daily and have lost 7lbs in two weeks which I didn't achieve on various other plans over the years. Stick with it as you are a 1lb down which is a good loss and you have identified where you went over. Increasing activity is a great idea and has helped me too. Plan your day and allow for days/nights out and all will be well. Record your measurements, write down your daily food calorie intake and pop in the forum for tips, advice inspiration and support. It's the lovely community on here that is making it doable for me. Wishing you well on your journey.👍😊

I've also lost about 1lb a week and now have lost 15lbs in total. On other diets I have tried I would be getting really hungry and bored and worrying about the amount of money I am paying to just get weighed, so I tended to give up about now.

Now that I am counting calories I don't get bored as I can chose anything I like to eat and I'm not giving money away for nothing. I can see myself carrying on for a long time.

15 lbs is great Lindakirk :D

And yes I do like not being held to eating certain things, I'm a very fussy eater!

A whole pound is a lot of fat Mon3 it's better to lose it slowly as its more likely to be actual fat and to stay off.

Have you joined any of the daily group Weigh-in? Details are to the right of your screen under 'Events'

I've only got about 10lbs to go then my BMI should be under 25 and in the normal range.

That really is fantastic, you should be very proud. :)

Have you chosen a non food reward?

I go out for dinner every time I hit a mile stone then I put on about 3-4lbs and it takes about 5-6 weeks to take it off again. It isn't really a diet just a life style change I eat more protein less bread potatoes and rice and try to eat around 1700-1800 calories a day.

Why don't you try a different reward? :) my first one will be a trip to the cinema!

But again well done for sticking with it and making such good change because it isn't easy.
