Yeah I'm not even sure I want to put it here, but here it is. 23 stone 5.
I made a big effort to eat better, and it was working for a while, I could literally feel my jeans fitting better, I went for more walks, taking my friends dog about a mile 3 times a week and just walking for the sake of it for more things, and I started to feel better.
Then I just.... forgot, at least that's what it feels like. I didn't think I just agreed to takeaways with friends and loads of snacks again. Tonight I feel terrible because I ate a pizza meant for about 2 people and I can't even muster the energy to get up from my desk because I'm so bloated. I've even had popcorn and ice cream despite being full.
So 7 pounds in about a month!
It's my birthday at the end of the month and I want to be able to fit in a shirt I like when I go out, so that's my motivation this month. I did well for a while, just need to keep back at it!

Hi Jay, today you are a victim of the dessert stomach! No matter how much you eat there is always room for dessert.
I know what you mean about forgetting - I have been there, lose a bit and then forget all about it. You do have to be focussed and plan every day.
I have a lot of targets and have them all on a document on my computer. I also record my weight twice a week. These things help me focus.
I would also recommend having a walk before you eat. I too would be too sluggish to bother after I have eaten most days. Don't forget that you still burn calories after exercising.
You know that you can be focussed so dust yourself off and start afresh tomorrow
I definitely have the dessert stomach. Whenever there is food left over my belly finds room for it haha! I'm still trying to walk more so I will try to remember to walk before dinner some nights. Of course not eating that much is a better solution, it's also harder...
Have you tried enlisting your friends' support? I realise how difficult it is to actually come clean to those around you, but chances are it hasn't even occurred to them that maybe pizza, takeaway, alcohol etc are not your best friends at the mo. Maybe try non-food related activities and then back to your place for healthy nibbles. Don't keep junk food in the house, it makes bingeing way too easy.
I'm no expert, as I've only just started my weight loss journey, but I do know all about mindless eating and unwitting conspirators.
I'm trying to follow that advice with not hoarding snacks, I don't know if it's helping but I'm swapping lots of things for ice lollies. I know they are loaded with sugar but it feels better than what I was snacking on all day. And as for my friends, it's just that I don't really have much self control, and asking them to try and have it for me just feels weird
Hi Jay....you've started the ball rolling and are on your way! Good decision made! We're here to support you and help you feel well again.....I've got five stone of unwanted energy to use up so that is taking me time to burn off by walking and hiking. keep posting and reply to posts and good luck!
Well done for taking the leap and posting, that's the hardest part. I know all about losing weight and it finding me again, far too many times to count and more always finds than I originally lost!! I too forget to diet after a while, i just have to plan, plan, plan.
I've started using the stairs at work today instead of lift which is huge for me.
Ugh, stairs! Noooo! I live in a flat so I know about stairs, but with the extra weight they make me feel like my knees are crumbling Good luck with yours tho!
I know it can be hard admitting to others that you have a problem and how heavy you are. I was 21 stone when I started here not long ago and decided that I had to just accept where I was at and that this would be something that would not be sorted out in in a few months - I even posted before photos!
Yep 23 st 5 is definitely heavy but with just a few tweaks to your eating you will lose 5 pounds in your first week easy.
I have tried time and again to lose weight and I feel like this time is the one that will stick.
What I have done differently is tried to immerse myself in health, every spare moment i have. I am ready a couple books that are health related, listening to a podcast called "Cut the Fat" which has 90 episodes for me to catch up on so plenty there for me and when I have time am slowly trying to understand how the body processes our food, how carbs so easily can become fat, what glycogen does and right now I am investigating L-Leuicine as it may be really helpful for me in my early stages of weight loss. When you are thinking, reading and hearing health all the time its harder to eat chocolate all the time!
Get Myfitnesspal its fantastic and many of us use it.
I find if I force myself out the door first thing for a walk the whole day seems to angle more towards being healthy.
Get focused and I hope to hear more about your journey
