So today was my first weigh in, I decided to myself when I started I would post my weekly weigh ins. Maybe the encouragement will help me or maybe the shame of failing will get my butt in gear.
I'm 24, 5ft 4 and weighed 158lb, last week, with a waist of 39in. I'm sick of being the fat friend, who struggles to find nice dresses that cover her arm flab and the girl who dodges photographs, it was time to actually do something about it.
I haven't found this first week too difficult but I think I'm just running on detirmination. I don't feel that hungry which is great. Don't get me wrong though not finding it a total breeze, I'm no wonder woman. During my couch25k runs I've been swearing at the Gods, praying for it to end but after I was done I can't say it was that bad really.
So here it is my first weigh in. Drum roll please...
155lb still 39in waist
I'm happy with the number however I'm thinking if the waist measurement hasn't budged it's probably water weight. Still any progress is progress and I'm not detirred yet.

Hi LivvyBeth, welcome and congratulations for making such decisive moves to make some changes. I'm also 5'4", slightly heavier than you, but 9lb down, now half way through the 12 week plan. I also did the couch to 5k before starting the 12 week plan. How far are you through c25k? Hope you start to find it easier - the trick is to stay running slow to begin with while you build up stamina. Speed will come with time. I found that starting to run really made a difference to my waist measurement, so I think you should definitely see the difference soon too. Good luck for the first week of your 12 week plan.
Thank you and congratulations on your weight loss so far.
I was on week 4 of c25k but I got shin splints so I'm starting again from the beginning, week 2 run 1 will be tomorrow. I'm finding it easier than the first time round but I can't say I find joy in it yet. Haha
Thanks re finding joy in running - try and find a joyful route and plan rewards for after each run. I plan a more fun breakfast after a run, and I like running places where there's stuff going on, lots of busy canal locks and wildlife etc. Changing your route can really help. Sorry to hear you had shin splints first time but hopefully this time will be better! Best of luck
I suggest you measure other bits of you too. I have lost 3 stones and only about 3 inches off my waist so far but lots more has come off my hips. I guess it all depends on your shape and where you store you fat.
Good luck for next week
Well done on your weight loss. I am in my first week also and I am going to weigh myself tomorrow. Eek!
I have measured my chest, waist, hips, thighs, wrist - hey practically everything!!
