End of the day

Once again another day's end when have eaten well all day and 'lost control' between 6pm & 10ish. I know I'll wake up disappointed with myself in the morning 😟

That's a shame. I know lots of people log on here when they want to snack. Can you put aside a yoghurt or something to have at a specific time (8.30pm?)?

Thanks for reply. You are right and that is a good plan, one I make but then it all seems to go to pot. Truth to tell it's not really about being hungry I think.....

That is such a tricky time. I have various treats that I keep for the evening, and I try to put off having them for as long as possible, for example frothy hot chocolate, weetabix with skim milk, banana on rice cake. Sometimes I'll chop up and eat vast amounts of cucumber if I've really got the munchies! I have bought an adult colouring book to keep my hands busy in the evening. I have to be very organised about my evening meal too, and plan when I will have it and what I will do afterwards. Luckily I live alone, so it's easy for me but I still slip up at times. Good luck and keep it up!

Thanks for reply. Some good suggestions also and the hot chocolate drink is one of my favourites - when I'm in control of the plan!! Some nights it 'greedy me' who takes over lol. I'm not beaten yet though.......

I did the same thing last night, totally lost all will power. Your doing great as you said " not beaten yet ". This morning I will start afresh and forget about it. Every night I treat my self with options low fat hot chocolate only 39 calories :) and keep various low calories snacks in the cupboard for emergencies lol, air popped popcorn is great for the munchies, also use to eat every night a single meringue nest as so sweet and only 50 calories, managed to wean myself off them by waiting later and later in the evening before having them. But still keep a hidden stash. It will get easier how many weeks into your diet are you ? I'm on week 11 and would never of believed I get this far. Keep going and good luck :)

Thanks :-) Some good tips there.

I really struggle in the evenings as well. I tend to try and eat quite late so there is less time to eat more although I know it's not particularly good for you to eat late.

I will often find that if I have a shower in the evening then it stops me wanting anything after the shower.

Or try having a glass of water before you eat anything else.

Good luck

Thanks - they say 'brush your teeth' as another avoidance tactic. I guess it comes down to what we want more - that extra treat of a good result on the scales? It seems I often want both lol :-)

This is such a dangerous time of day for me too and it has nothing to do with being hungry just boredom I think. I wouldn't say I have it sussed but after posting this very problem on this forum some weeks ago 'fibronfedup' explained how she gets busy with her craft work in the evening so I decided to take up knitting again after 25 years now I get so into the knitting I don't get time to eat, it works for me so maybe there's a hobby you could get into that would help you too. Good luck.

I agree it's not hunger and focusing on a hobby is cracking idea. This is the first time I have written on any forums of this type, except for FB and Twitter but you can't be quite as honest on there I find, especially about something I'm quite ashamed off. I was about to have a bag of crisps but your timely email as stopped me - at least for now!! Thanks to you and all the others for the posts today. I hope everything is going well with all of you.
