For me, it's keeping a realistic approach. I hate anything that holds me hostage too..... It's only a matter of time before I crave control and bam! Back at square one:( So, this time...I'm approaching it in a way that I can continue to follow for the rest of my life with small adjustments along the way when needed . In the process of finding a calorie tracker with a realistic calorie allowance. NOT buying a fitbit, hate the idea of chasing steps all day long! My approach is to NOT cut out every food I like, do cardio at least 5 x weekly (hour walk or 45 min jog) and light weights 3 x weekly. Starting with a 1250 calorie base allowance with adding in calories from workouts. When I find the right tracker, I'll start using it for reference, making appropriate adjustments necessary for progress.

Hope this helps:)

Gilbet, Exercises will reshape and firm up your body but not specifically make you loose weight. I believe quantity is a factor and the type of food you eat. Stay away from Alcohol and away from sugar as much as possible. Start by giving up low fat stuff and "health" stuff. Breakfast cereals can be a killer.

Good luck. Just be aware.

Hard to be concise, not knowing your personal circumstances but you need to be critical about what you are eating in order to lose weight.

Exercise for Health but in order to successfully lose Fat and maintain that loss you need to change what and how much you eat.

Good Luck.

Hi Giblet,

Do you have a daily calorie allowance? Are you counting calories and weighing food etc to make sure you are not going over your allowance? If you are not already doing so it maybe an idea to keep a daily food diary for a week or so to monitor your intake. Hope you shift some weight soon as I know how frustrating it is to stay the same when you are trying so hard. Good luck.

Muscle weighs more than fat, so that may be part of it.

And are you consistently counting the calories?

Also, 8 weeks isn't actually very long (but can feel like it, for sure).
