Lose weight
Hello barmouth58 and a very warm welcome to the Weight Loss Forum 😊
Massive well done on losing 9 stone, fabulous achievement 👏👏👏. Have a good look around, especially at the Welcome Newbie Post for advice about how the forum works and all the things we have on offer. Read it carefully as it has lots of important information, and just ask if you have any questions. healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
Without know more about how you eat it’s hard to make suggestions, we have a Daily Diary Post wHere you can share your menus and receive help and advice. For myself, I need to eat a lot less now than before I lost weight, but I also eat in a different way.
I also highly recomend coming onto the forum regularly, daily if you can, reading posts and replying to others. Being part of a community is proven to help weight loss. Why not join our daily chat thread ‘What’s Happening Today?’
Best wishes and have a good festive season

I can’t eat any fats as I had my goulbder our and I can’t eat wheat at all so sometimes I have to have gluten free Thank you for your reply
I too had my gall bladder out years ago but, fortunately I am ok with all fats except if I was to go really over the top which I wouldn't anyway. I have butter, eat rich foods all ok thankfully. But, we are all different and I read from your post it has made you sick.
That's a brilliant weight loss, well done you!!!
Have you been told you should avoid fats after gall bladder surgery? The NHS guidance doesn't seem to be that rigid nhs.uk/common-health-questi... .
Take your time finding your way around and then get involved as much as you can for maximum support

Hi, well done on the huge weight loss. I can totally relate, I lost 11stone my self then lost nothing, not even an ounce for 6months. If I had a 'bad' weekend I would put a pound on which I could take off easily but the weight loss wouldn't continue, it was almost as though my body had set it's own ideal weight. 13stone at the time. I'm 5 ft 7 so really hoping for 11stone.
Anyway, last summer, from about June, when the sun comes up super early I started walking before work, most days. I was getting up before 5 most days and walking 5 miles, I was back home before 7am giving me time for breakfast and getting ready for work. You would think I'd be tired but it actually shot up my energy levels. It was sometimes hard getting out of bed but once done it was great. I kept my eating the same but the weight suddenly started to drop again and I lost another stone over the summer. I figured I was burning an extra 500 calories each time I walked. As soon as the light mornings come around I'll be at it again! Hope that helps.

Wow! You people are incredible! I know how hard it is to remain focused and committed! You must feel amazing now! You are an inspiration to us all!
I think we all have a set point and its difficult to get past it. I think maintenance for a while is absolutely the way to go and then your body relaxes a bit, realises there's not a famine on and when you shake things up a bit, it works again. Well done on losing that amount of weight and then a stone on top - incredible!
😮 wow!! You have done soooo well. What an amazing loss. It must be frustrating for you to not be able to lose at the moment but I’m sure that you will get lots of help, advice and support here x
Hi, barmouth58
As Josiesmith says, exercise can make a big difference.
If you cannot exercise, or do not want to, you can lose weight just by eating less...
You could try not eating in the evenings: gradually bring forward your "don't eat after" time to e.g. 14:00, which gives me a 20 hour every day Intermittent fast.
Wow that's incredible very well done you! You should be very proud of your achievements! I guess you have plateaued? There is as people have said a wealth of information on here that may help. Wishing you continued success in your next personal goals. 😉
hi and many congrats firstly, now the last 2 stone may require more relaxation, and meditation if that's your thing. maybe a different exercise? good luck x
Hi, again, barmouth58
I know very little about you, but perhaps you could look at yourself in the mirror, find out what your body-fat percentage is... and re-assess your target weight?
The second half of this post is relevant, I think:
