Just stepped on the scales to find myself at 15st- the heaviest I've ever been. How did that happen!?
I've always been overweight, but managed to curb it with first and exercise over the years ( I'm only 27 but started early!).
But after a year in a stressful job, too many excuses, takeaways, chocolatey snacks, wine and cocktails here I am!
But, I've made redundant from said job and no is a better time than any to put things right.
Venturing to the gym today for the first time in months with a mixture of dread and excitement. Came across this 12-week plan and want to give it my all.
If anyone out there's went through the same and has any tips, I'd really appreciate it! π

Hi there, there's a lot of us on here that have needed to shock ourselves into submission π the 2 week plan is definitely a great place to start - my top tip is to use MyFitnessPal alongside it, it's really easy to use and will help keep track of your calories, I use it to plan my meals in advance so I know I will stay within my allowance ... Good luck on your journey πΈ
I'll try my fitness pal, thanks π went to the gym and said I'd do at least 30, but did 40 then a walk after. You're right though, planning meals is definately the best thing to do π
Good luck! The support here is amazing, just follow the programme and you'll see the results. Exercise is essential to get faster results, so good luck at the gym!
Hi there, I am going to look out all the summer clothes that don't fit me and work out an exercise regime. I need to work out an exercise regime, I did well at one point with DVDs, but my family interfere and laugh, which makes me feel self conscious and silly so I have to work out how to get out and about a bit more! Have a good day everyone.
I might look out Summer clothes too! I tried one of Davinas DVDs not too long ago and nearly collapsed haha so think I'd rather just ease myself in. It must be hard to fit in exercise with a family but I'm sure you'll do great π
Hey welcome to the group very supportive and motivating people here. We all understand the struggles, ive been on the 12 week plan for 22 weeks and counting lol, Best advice ive been given is smaller goals, so 7lbs at a time as its easier to aim for than 70lbs if that makes sense. Also dont beat yourself up if you have a bad day, learn from what triggered it and keep going. I find weekly weigh ins keep me focused and on the ball, another i find helps is taking down body measurements ie. waist bust thighs etc.. as even if you dont lose one week you may find that you have still lost around your body, which is just as motivating. A visual goal can help some people, i bought a dress after a few weeks that i was too big for and set myself a goal to get into it by my birthday and i did it was a great feeling. Hope you do well all the best and good luck
Hi, you're situation rings true to me too. I've been on so many diets and I'm only 26, I just tend to yo yo as most of them have involved starving myself with vlcd shakes and other such unsustainable nonsense! I only started the 12 week plan this week but so far has been great, not been hungry at all. A calorie counting app is a good idea as it's far easier to keep track! Best of luck and looking forward to hearing how you get on! π»
Thanks! I know I'll find it he'd at the weekend because I like having a drink but will probs post on here asking for now others cope as doubt I'll be the only one! π
