Fresh Start

I am not doing well,so from tomorrow I am going to start from scratch and follow the 12 week plan to the letter.I WILL LOSE THAT 100 lb 😡

Hi Mandyflatt,

You have come to the right place for support. We are all here for you. Give yourself realistic targets, plan your meals and research healthy snacks.

Remember not all healthy snacks are as good as we think. I started by reading and researching how many calories in what I eat, what I like and what I think are healthy snacks. I was extremely surprised/shocked and also watch out for those little treats (like an ice-cream at the pictures - 270 calories) I call them wasted calories, because they do nothing, no goodness only 'fat'.

Also I found most helpful was to work out what my triggers were for reaching for the foods I had not planned for. Once you know your triggers you must find alternatives, a phone call to a friend, bath, walk anything but food. Re-educate your mind not expect food inbetween meals. Hard but it works. There is also those who will mention exercise, I don't like exercise so I try to work very hard around the house and garden instead, thankfully I do love to walk.

Obviously, you have to find out what suits you best and remember we are here for you. All on the forum are very supportive. Couldn't do it without them.

I echo what mum1955 said, absolutely spot on! I found MyFitnessPal really useful too, it made it easier to count calories and planning advance helps you choose good things ... Good luck on your journey 🌺

I wish you a successful journey this time round. I know it is hard but the journey will get easier and you will find a routine that you can stick to. It just takes time so be patient and trust in yourself. Good luck and keep us posted x

I started my journey this week, Folliegirl told me about MyFitnessPal it is great makes the counting calories and working out the calories sooooo much easier to do you can add exercise you have done, cups of water drunk and more. I highly recommend trying it. Good luck with your journey.

Hey mandyflatt , well done for trying again. Everyone here knows how hard it is to lost weight and be generally more healthy but we are all here for you ! You can do it! I will be your buddy I need to lose 100lb to so I know exactly how daunting it is. I just take it one day at a time, small goals are best so at the end of each day I manage to stick to the plan I give myself a huge pat on the back and it feels good to know I have made a small step in changing ! After 6 weeks I find it becomes a way of life. I have lost only 7 lb. But if I keep at it maybe more in 12 weeks. I eat lots of salads and soups. As I feel full I can usually stop the evening binges .

I started the 12 week plan today, and I'm hoping to lose a stone. I just want to get back to my old self, tone up and improve my fitness. I have to say that its good to hear how others are approaching this, today has been a very positive start. I look forward to hear how you get on.
