week 2: well at the end of week two my... - Weight Loss Support
week 2
Don't worry! Keep making good choices! Reduce/avoid salt in your meals as it helps the body retain lots of water. Maybe you are carrying water-weight. Don't give up!!
well i,m going to stop the water this week as i did,nt drink it in the first week
Hey dont feel bad we all have bad weeks, it could be water, take a look at what you ate compared to last week and see if anything jumps out at you as higher in salt or fat maybe. We all lose weight at different rates so see it as something to learn from and keep up the good work
the only things i had diffrent was had so brown rice some brown cobs and some fish in bread crums and lots of water
0 lbs is good, just think if you were not watching what you eat it could of been a plus gain.so keep up the good work.
all the best
paul-j
ps have a good cycle
thanks paul i will keep up the hard work its just a kick in the teeth when you think you,ve change,d stuff that should work but it did,nt GERRR lol
The first couple of weeks are always going to be tricky! Your body is just getting used to your new lifestyle and a sudden change in the amount of food it is getting can cause it to go into "survival mode" - meaning it'll be clinging onto those extra pounds! Keep it up Steve! You're doing really well and you will see the results you deserve soon!
thanks rachel
Steve I can sympathise with your disappointment but forgive me, I have to brutal and say that at your current size you should have lost something in the second week without much effort, I'm not suggesting for one minute that you did not put any effort in, on the contrary, I'm trying to highlight the fact that you have something very wrong with what you have or are eating.
I'm guessing your height and weight from your photo which looks very similar to my own starting obesity level, which in turn means your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) which is a measure of the calories your body needs to just function without taking into account activity, is going to be not far off double that of someone of the same height but of a normal weight. This is why it's not unusual to see very obese people produce great weight-loss figures at the beginning of their diets.
When I started I had absolutely no knowledge of nutrition, dieting or health, I would not have been able to even tell you what a Carbohydrate was, seriously I did not have a Scooby, I had no calorie counter, no smartphone with apps, I don't even think Healthunlocked even existed, if it did I did not know about it, I had no scales that would even weight me at the beginning (to heavy) and my GP was as about as helpful as a Chocolate TeaPot. For these reason I knew if I had any chance of getting the weight off that I needed to keep it relatively simple in order to stick to it, which is what I did. I don't follow this same diet now because my through my journey and expanding knowledge it has lead me somewhere else completely but I can still recommend that you start off similar principle if you can.
How I started was I had 4 Simple rules that I followed,
The first biggie, NO Bread or bread products, very daunting for someone that ate the typical modern beige diet exclusively.
The second at least 7 to 10 portions of fruit and veg a day, emphasis being on the veg rather than the fruit.
3rd - No packets or Jars.
Lastly (4th) I did not eat after my evening meal until breakfast the next day.
I ate bowl of simple breakfast cereal each morning, like porridge, had a piece of fruit mid morning and had a huge green salad for lunch with either a tin of oily fish or a poached chicken breast, a piece of fruit in the afternoon. Then dinner was different each night but something home cooked, keeping the veg content high and the Rice, Pasta, Potatoes to a minimum. I stuck to this religiously for about 10 months before I had to start to change things around to continue to lose weight.
Personally like I said I would not follow this diet now but it served a purpose for me at the time, it was simple to follow and stick to, because I set very well defined barriers for myself and it got rid of my first 10 stone or so, it also put down a kind of foundation for me to eating healthy building a good routine into my life. I wish I had blogged or documented my diet more as it now seems like an age ago, my life now is worlds apart from what it was then and yours could be also! Hopefully you can glean something from that which can help you on your journey, there is some more information on my profile if that helps.
Whatever you do try to draw a line under this week, move on and make it right next week!
Good Luck.
thanks for the reply and i dont think your having ago i like people in my life that speak there mind car,nt do with people that say what they think the person wants to here. my hight is 5.8 and my starting weight was 21.2 but now its 20.8 and yes i agree i should of lost weight this week well i thought i should of lol i,ll have a look at your profile if you dont mind and i,ll send a pm aswell

I'm 6'3" Steve and the heaviest I weighed was 190KG which is I believe is about 30 Stone, at the time I had a 58" Waist and 66" Chest but I have had at one point a 60" waist so goodness knows what I weighed then lol! The picture on profile is actually at my wedding, which I slimmed down a little for
We had scales at home at weighed up to 27 Stone and it took me a couple of months to get down to where they were able to weigh me.
I did go down to 11 stone 8 pounds at one point but it was too low, especially when you consider I have some excess skin left also, I lost a lot of muscle. I am now steady at 79Kg (12 stone 6 pounds) and I have a 32" waist 38" Chest with reasonable muscle mass.
Sure just PM if you think I can help answer something etc.
thanks i,ve just pm you lol my chest is 54 and my waist is 50 at this time
