Good day to everybody :-)

I have worked so hard this week and was not going to let anything stand in my way of achieving a loss this week. I have run my 3 rd 10 k since I started this journey and I have continued with the strength training this week. Exercise has been on point and calories in v calories out have also been on point and I am very pleased with the results on the scales :-)

This week I have lost 2 lbs which means I am now 10 stone 13 lbs YES!! :-)

I have now reached my goal I set for the Christmas challenge by entering the 10's and lost 2 inches from my waist :-) I couldn't be happier right now :-)

I am now 153 lbs and lost 87 lbs in 49 weeks on my journey and it's all been worth it.

I have one more weigh in before Christmas so my goal will be to try and lose another 2 lbs this week, easier said than done, but anything is possible as I always like to say :-) I truly believe that :-)

Have a great weekend everyone and a fantastic week ahead :-)

Thank you hggirl :-) the goal is to lose 92 lbs in 52 weeks

in reply to trafford1

Great, 5lbs in 3 weeks, as you as you say, possible if you believe and go for it.

5 lbs isn't going to be easy especially this time of year, but I do have 16 days off work to workout so I will do my best to achieve this goal by new yr and I believe I can :-)

WTG you! You've done it again, what a star! :)

I just know you're going to reach your goal, let's face it, you've already smashed your Christmas goal and are now into the 10's, WOOHOO!! :)

Brilliant that you've managed your 3rd 10K too - it'll be a half marathon next :)

I think you should become a personal trainer, you've got exactly the kind of drive and motivational qualities required - I'd definitely hire you :)

Keep up the good work and I can't wait to hear where you're at next week :)

Thank you moreless, I did it and I am so pleased to have reached my Christmas goal now, but there's still no room for error as I still have 5 lbs to go. In the 10's this side of the year makes me feel on top of the world coming from 17.2 I just can't believe it sometimes and to look in the mirror these days is just getting a bit silly now LOL the changes are so apparent.

I even got a called the slim mix race girl by a customer who had to describe me to another colleague at work which was just fantastic :-) that made my week this week and made me work even harder after hearing that :-)

I would love to become a trainer and encourage others to lose weight I was just taking about that with my friend as I have the know how and I've been there and experienced the struggles so that is something I would definitely consider in the future and I love that you would hire me I would be there for you pushing you every day like a Gillian Micheals on your shoulder lol.

Next week I can't wait to see the results and I am going to work just as hard all week. I wish you a lovely weekend and thank you so much for all of your support and kind words moreless. Good luck for your next weigh in hun x

You should definitely go for being a personal trainer, you'd love it and your clients would love you - don't get too much like Gillian Michaels though, she's way too "in your face", you're much nicer :)

I'm going to need all the luck I can get, as I've set myself a target of another 5.5lbs by Christmas! Well, I can only try :)

Keep admiring that stranger in the mirror, cos she's here to stay :)

Fantastic stick with it bypass any Xmas stuff just eat protein and green veg plus lots of water if really hungry I have half a dry ryvita , I am trying to lose 3 lb by Xmas day x

trafford1 profile image
trafford1 in reply to skinnylizzie

Thank you skinnylizzie :-) will enjoy some Xmas foods, but won't be over loading on this. My plate used to be packed to the brim, but not any more and I will be taking my time and enjoying those flavours, yummy :-)

I have increased my water intake now as I see this as a very important part of my day and it helps speed up the metabolism and keeps us hydrated. I've never been one for ryvita, but do enjoy crackers and foods high in protein with veg plus bulgar wheat which is such a great filler.

Best of luck hun on reaching your goal of losing 3 lb by Xmas day and have a lovely weekend ;-)

Super congrats Trafford1 - in the 10s! Wooooop! That is so cool, I'm super happy for you. I really feel comfortable in the 10s and am very glad you've reached this happy point too. The customer described not just your size (slim) but your youthful appearance (girl) - a great compliment all round! I also think you'd be a great personal trainer - you've encouraged me very effectively with my running when I've slacked off - firm but kind. My marathon-running friend corresponds with her personal trainer online - he sends her schedules and reminders. So it doesn't necessarily need to be something you do in person, taking time out from your other job, although I'm not sure how you'd start to set yourself up doing that sort of thing. It's an idea though! Good luck for another determined week, and enjoy the feeling of your ever shrinking waist, the lightness in your step, and the lovely slim silhouette of your figure in the mirror :)

Aww thank you Ruth :-) for your kindness and lovely words which always inspire me honestly :-) It feels so great to have made it this far and to have achieved this goal this week and to have someone describe me like that. They were all taking about it in the office and I didn't even find out till the next day. I'm not sure how I would start out becoming a trainer, but this can be looked into next yr when I am settled into maintaining my weight. I still have that hurdle to master and find the right balance.

I was so determined to make a difference this week I ran a 3 rd 10 k which was hard again but in the spirit of giving it all I've got I had to go for it.

My daughter is coming home from uni in 7 days and I know she can't wait to see how I have done. She is in for a big surprise when she arrives home and I can't wait to see her.

I will enjoy this week and put every bit of effort into it to reach my goal and thank you for your support Ruth ;-)

Hi Trafford1,

Congratulations on achieving the 10's, that is just fantastic news to hear this weekend, and I am absolutely thrilled to hear that news. Achieving a 2 pound loss this week, and losing 87 pounds in 49 weeks - really inspiring.

Also, fantastic to hear you've run your 3rd 10k - that is a long way!!!

You've reminded me about 'strength training' - I am pleased to be reminded, as I haven't done any strength training for several weeks now...! I must put that back on my list. Just shows what can happen when I am away from this forum for a while, I begin to slip back... Ruth has been keeping me on my toes in terms of keeping up with strength training previously, so I am glad to be back to re-start it again.

You mentioned Jillian Michaels - I really find her motivating - so if you do become a personal trainer like her, I am sure you will be amazing! I have done her 30 day shred sometimes, and it is really good. I must get it out again and have another go.

Anyway, your post has given me plenty of food for thought - mainly of the non-edible kind, but yesterday's post about fish and 'trout' has inspired me to buy more fish. I love eating fish as well. So healthy and tasty.

Wishing you lots of success with this week's goal to lose 2 pounds. I have faith that you will do that. But I can appreciate it will be challenging at this time of year - but as you say believing that anything is possible will help you achieve it. Positive mindset is key.

Have a great weekend and excellent week ahead.

Lowcal :-)

A big hello and welcome back again Lowcal, oh how I miss your posts when your gone. Don't leave us so long next time :-) glad you returned to post early and you did surprise me when you replied :-)

Lowcal I did it :-) I am chuffed to bits and never stopped working for this result. I have run my socks off this week and been lifting weights all week and it has all paid off even did 15 reps x 5 and pushed 70 kg on the leg press this week which felt great. My shape is changing before my eyes and I just love what I am seeing.

Love Gillian and she is such a great inspiration to me and I would love to be just like her pushing others on their path on a successful weight loss journey. I have recently found her new but old programme called lose weight with Gillian where she works with one family for one week and changes their lives forever. The impact she has on people including me is ever lasting. The 30 day shred I have herd of but not looked at, but well done you for trying that out and you must get it out again Lowcal to introduce something new this week. Change it up I say so after Monday's weigh in and I hope it's a good one for you, get it out and go from there. There's no stopping you over Christmas period form completing the full 30 days :-) teehee ;-)

I love fish because it's healthy, it's low in cals good for the brain or so they say :-) high in protein and great for weight loss. Like I have said I eat fish 4 x a week and love it and it really works for me on my weight loss path. Plan the DVD and plan lot's of fish this coming week just give it a go and let's see what results you see just from making those simple changes. Hope you don't mind me saying that I just wish you many successes in reaching your goal :-)

Full of positivity this coming week and self belief. Onwards and downwards as moreless says and wishing all the very best for Monday Lowcal and a great weekend ;-)

Hi Traff,

Thanks for your extremely inspiring response - I am definitely inspired by what you wrote, and I will do my best to extend my goals next week, as per your suggestions.

Here's to 'onwards and downwards' for all of us - I think we are all doing incredibly well - but part of that process is the group support, and it is invaluable. Such great community spirit here, and such a fabulous forum.

I am thrilled that you are so full of positivity and self-belief, because it shines brightly in you, and you are shining the way for all of us.

Enjoy your weekend, and I'll look forward to catching up with you on Monday.

Thank you floss :-) getting into the 10's is my greatest achievement so far and it's all gravy from here. Not to say it's going to be easy cause it's not, but now that I have reached this goal and in a number I want to be in as long as I don't gain over Christmas I will be okay :-)

I posted the plate of food just so people can see the type of meal I eat and portion size. Also wanted to get out there that fish is a great option for any weight loss journey no matter what kind people like to eat. There is so much to chose from and portion control is so important and it was very nice. I was thinking of starting a post of what I eat kinda like a blog, what do you think ? Just for a week and see how it goes....not too sure when, but definitely something I would like to do to help others :-)

Fingers crossed for the next weigh in for both of us hun ;-)

in reply to trafford1

I think it's a great idea, you are a good role model to learn from and I for one find it easy to get into a food rut so any ideas are great. Why not start it in the new year ? You will be in the next phase of your journey maintaining and I'm sure there are loads of folk out there that would love it especially all the newbies that will join us after Santa's visit lol😃

Tonight I'm having a baked seeded fish portion with brown rice and some stir fried veg, so inspiration from you😃

You are so right it's about making good choices and portions !!

Onward and downwards !!!

😇

Well done. And run 10 k too. Fantastic

Super major congratulations Trafford -for the weight loss, the reinvention and the 10k and pushing more than your body weight on the leg press. 🏋🏽Your daughter will be overjoyed. Reading posts like yours makes me feel much less overwhelmed by all the challenges of trying to get healthy, it is doable if I can hear what contributors like you are saying. You would make a great personal trainer or anything else in that field. 💃👍😀

trafford1 profile image
trafford1 in reply to Gonti

Thank you Gonti and yes I did push more than I weigh on the leg press :-) I didn't even think of that. Cool

I have stuck with this for 49 weeks now and at times it does get hard, but I would never give up and to know that all I had to do was stick to something for longer than a week or two and push through the pain and to pick myself up and keep moving every single day is what has got me these results and I am so pleased. No matter how long it takes you Gonti just know that you are worth it and that you can do it. You have the best motivators here on the forum supporting you all the way hun :-)

Thank you for your lovely post this morning this is very rewarding for me :-)
