I've lost around 4 1/2 stone since late last May - initially for 2 social occasions, lost my way for some of the winter and am now using (successfully) hypnotherapy. I need to loose much more but my current objective is moving from obese to overweight by a family holiday in mid-June. I should be able achieve this without starving.
I'm not quite sure how much I've lost as I only started with scales about 4 weeks ago. Before that I just went on clothes. I've yo-yoed all my life so have clothes of all sizes. I thought scales would be a 'bad thing' as I'd panic if I didn't loose anything. I think this worked.
I've been so good today. I was in the pool at 8.15, came home to a 2 egg mushroom omelette, had hake and celery for lunch and I'm bored, bored, bored ... Talk to me please.

Hi Jen, I didn't want to read and run .. congratulations on the weight loss ... I am obese hate that word but BMI 40.2 say's it all so I have about 6 stone to lose I have just started today after going up and down up and down. I think today hit me when I saw that BMI and gave me the kick I needed ... Good luck to you .. I have to say I posted earlier and had one reply not sure how well this site is for support not looking good at the moment for me anyway. x
Francis Hi. Thanks for your reply and the congrats. It's a long struggle - but my friend says I shouldn't use words like struggle because you have kind of permission to give up a 'struggle'. You have to use positive words. Says I shouldn't talk about loosing weight because loosing something generally means you miss whatever it is. And so the word is not appropriate 'cas we all don't want the weight any more. So I'm 'getting rid of weight!' Any help to you? The best of luck - no, not luck, the best of positiveness to you.
you've done fantasically well so far. I've lost 3st so far and have another 3st to go and I'm working on moving my bmi from obese to overweight. So I'm I a similar boat to both you and Francis.
I think it's good for us to have a positive outlook on this all. Afterall we didn't start this process off thinking we wanted to berate ourselves for improving our health and wellbeing. I certainly didn't, especially after years of beating myself up because I felt like a beeched whale!
In terms of being bored, I've found its good to keep busy if you can. Have you thought about taking up a new hobby? Ones that keep your fingers busy are good as they stop you snacking. I've recently been enjoying knitting.
if you're food with your food choices then maybe google for some new recipes. I've bought myself a set of mini weight watchers recipe books. Not only are they low calorie they're also full of flavour and easy to cook so I have no excuse not to explore new foods or cook at home rather than be lazy and eat out or order in.
