Try the C25K. That's what I'm doing. I'm of similar age as well needing to lose 3 stone. I'm also doing exercise DVD's, walking everywhere. Eating healthily generally. Try and have a target in mind of how you want to be. What's your ideal weight, measurements and look up different plans. Think of it as a change for life.

Hi there

Welcome to the start of something great!,I've only been on this plan for two weeks and already I have lost 9 pounds and I've done every diet going, have you tried healthy eating plans before or is this your first time?,I find that increasing your exercise levels definitely helps,I live in a semi rural area so not near gyms so I've just started going for small jogs with my dog,I find anything extra no matter how small helps, also look at your portion sizes as you could be eating healthy but too much,if you just put healthy meals in google you will be spoilt for choice or if you're not much of a cook then the weightwatchers steam meals out of the freezer are a good way to start, hope this helps, let me know how you get on,good luck!

well i weigh myself at least twice a day and treat the weight loss thing like a game . i must either weigh the same or less after a week. simple.just remember 2 rules 1 eat less 2 remember the first rule.

Hi thehoops,

Motivation? Well if you're a couple of stone overweight, you're eating in more calories than you're using, so if you don't take control of the situation, it's highly probable you'll carry on putting on weight.

Getting into some proper and sensible eating habits to match you actual day to day needs sounds like it'll be gruesome, but in fact it isn't. As you make changes your 'new' habits (better, healthier, more sensible eating) will after a bit of time become you normal and the 'old' habits will fade into the past.

Oh and when you've got rid of that extra two stone that you currently lumber around 24/7, you'll feel lighter, fitter, more mobile - it really does feel good. Plus it gives you a kind of "I DID IT" empowerment.

And - for most people - getting rid of that extra weight and keeping it off IS achievable. Just look at some of I DID IT badges on this blog.

Good luck with your weight loss efforts.
