I am determined to loose it this year and pretty sure it will help my pain too. It does seem a vicious circle though. Pain = don't want to exercise, sitting about =no burning calories and for me the need to nibble ! Any ideas ?

Hi Levi

Sorry to hear about the osteoarthritis and the weight gain. I have found that the only way I can lose weight is to keep my carbs low, and to avoid the "white" carbs like sugar and white bread. I have a protein breakfast, eggs or plain yoghurt with fruit/nuts. Watch out for the hidden sugar in low fat foods like yoghurt. It's much better for you to have some fat rather than the sugar.

Good luck with the weight loss.

Thank you for your help and advice. I think it is often sticking to the diet that is the problem ! I'm sure I'm not the only one who can do wonders for a week and then start to fail ! I am starting with a friend this Friday, cross your fingers for us . Thanks Tracey ..

hi i have the same medical condition as yourself and to be honest im ashamed i have never in my life been as heavy as i am now and its a constant struggle i have gone to 15st 9 lbs. im totally ashamed and can only admit to it to yourselves as you dont have to see me. The problem like yourself is lack of exercise due to chronic back pain, getting worse not being able to do simple housework chores, l have joined a specialist health therapist at our doctors surgery. she has advised to cut down on sugary foods and fats just the same common sence things to do BUT ITS NOT EASY IS IT xx Depression also plays apart of the vicious circle of food - lack of self asteem - giving up - i`ll start tomorrow - round and around we go. if only there were a magic pill if you get any good sound advice will you share it with me please love lindy ~~~~~~~~

Thank you for your reply, it is good to chat to someone with the same problem, it is not a nice condition is it ? It seems in control of me at the moment and I must get that control back. I am pushing myself a little bit every day when I can and live in hope with the better weather round the corner things might ease for a while. Thanks for the advice, I will try cutting out what was suggested to you it makes sense. So much you say I can identify with. Nice chatting, good luck, be nice to chat again. Thanks, Tracey ..
