This week I have lost 0.6 pounds, and am pleased with that, as it's a struggle for me to lose anything at this time of year. But I did tweak my food intake - in that I removed the chocolate treats from our Christmas tree (i.e. gave them away rather than scoffed them), and I also stopped having an evening snack in the late evening (which I used to do regularly). I have been for a walk most days, and I managed to go to the gym once (which was the first gym session in many weeks!).
My weight loss is definitely due to the support of people here, because I felt very motivated by your support last week, and it inspired me to try harder and make some concrete changes. So that combination of support and action reaped a reward. Thank you!
I hope you have had a good week, and I hope you'll join me for this weigh-in today. Good luck to everyone for the following week.

Well done Lowcal! I missed the gym twice this week, my back to back Zumba and Spin on Thursday evening,, and I have events the next two weeks then it's Xmas so won't be doing those till next year! That said I did do an early morning spin instead on Thursday 6:45
My scales are lying this morning and I must be dehydrated, all week I have been either just over or just under 11stone well today I am 10st 9 and 1/2 pound, will go with that but would be happy to stay under 11st so 10 anything will do for next week! Good luck everyone, off to write some cards now, not exactly a high calorie burning activity!
You're doing really well. That's great news. Hope you managed to get your Christmas cards done too. Wow, that early morning spin was definitely early! That's dedication - well done.
Hi -good news on weight loss-as u say focused effort. Things ok for me.lost one and half pounds -pleased with-would like to lose another two by Xmas. That will take me to one stone lost in total.have a good week
I am completely new to this site but am starting the 12 week weight loss journey as I really need to lose a good couple of stone before trying for a baby, which I am hoping to start next summer! I am really excited by this and now I have a goal to aim for. I only started today so my first weigh-in will be next Monday (what an awful time to start, leading up to Xmas, my favourtie time of year!), but I wanted to say "Hi" and good luck to everyone.
I am normally really bad at sticking to diets/healthy eating, especially when I see a weight gain and I have been eating healthily, I then feel "why am I bothering" as I love unhealthy food so much, I could easily live on chocolate, biscuits and takeaways! I know that is so bad and unhealthy for my body, especially if preparing for a baby!
I am hoping reporting in on a regular basis will keep me on track
The support on here is brilliant and we all motivate each other. Once you start to feel the health benefits and see some results you will find it easier.
I find using my fitness pal a very useful tool to count calories.
Welcome we have our ups and downs on this thread - mainly downs this week well done all! Do you have a starting weight, set yourself a little goal and share. Slow and steady does it! I try and find loŵer calorie things to snack on, caramel rice cakes home bargains do some for 69p a pack that are around 40 cals, if I have done some exercise I might have a kit Kat 107 cals, if not will probably have a mug of Cadburys highlights. Good luck, we have all fallen off the wagon at some time here the thing is we just get right back on - good luck!
Welcome. I hope you have a good first week. I think it's great that you're starting before Christmas, as many people would shy away from starting at such a time, but the earlier the better to ensure you start on your weight loss journey - it obviously feels right to you, and you sound well motivated, with the ultimate goal of preparing for a baby.
Some positive things in your post. Well done and especially so for giving away chocolate! Good that you're getting back into exercise.
I've lost 1lb this week so very pleased with that. Don't think I'll get to 14st before Christmas though. Husband's birthday coming up so away for the weekend. I'll be happy to stay the same.
No walking happening at the moment as I don't like walking on my own in the dark.
That's great that you've lost 1 pound this week. Well done!!!
Sounds like you've got a big weekend coming up with your husband's Birthday, so hope you both enjoy celebrating it.
The darker Wintry nights do put a dampener on evening exercise.
Hope you have a good week. I was quite shocked by the scales this morning, as I had eaten a Christmas pudding (somewhat earlier than intended) and I put on quite a lot overnight! I'm not going to divulge how much as it's not my official weigh-in day till next Monday, and I"m hoping to get that excess off again! There were a lot of calories in that Christmas pudding and I had a rather big portion, so I've only got myself to blame!
Wow, way to go! With those Chrimbo Tree Chocolates Good to see you are still going in the right direction, well done. Having boundaries, rules or routines definitely can help sometimes, for example I don't eat anything after my evening meal and looking back it was something that prevented me faltering on a number of occasions.
Well done to everyone else that lose this week also.
Thanks for your kind words of encouragement! I managed to steer clear of those Christmas chocolates, but fell for the Christmas pudding instead (see above) - oh well...! My remaining meals have been reasonably sensible and I've had another walk today - so hopeful to keep going in the right direction.
I've lost a stone in total and now still at 11st 8lb!! Been hovering here for a while now. I did say I would try to reach 11.4 for Christmas and I guess there's still time so I shouldn't be writing off my chances already!!! My mid-afternoon cake has properly slipped back into my diet - so need to knock that one on the head - and my sleep has been all over the place (my own fault...burning it at both ends) I guess if I wasn't so tired I wouldn't need the cake!!! There, problem solved, I'm off to bed Good luck everyone!!! Actually before I go can you all please tell me what are your goals for before Christmas (if you have any?) - does anyone want to join me in a 2lb weight loss challenge for Christmas day...come on...we've got two weeks....anyone?
Well done on your weight loss, hope supasister2 is doing ok too, you have thrown down the gauntlet, my weight this week was a fluke but I would like to see a real reading of 10'9 by Xmas day
Ok girls we are game on!!! I weighed myself this morning - just to double check - and was still 11st 8lb; Prin you're 10st 9.5; Lowcal what was your weight on Monday (or do you share the ups and downs but not your weight?), I supposed it doesn't matter. Yes down the gauntlet goes...I didn't even have a cake this afternoon, just a pear and a yoghurt. Let's do this ladies, fingers crossed for Monday....Go! Go! Go!
Congratulations on your weight loss. A stone is amazing! Yes, there's still time to reach your goal of 11 stone 4 lb by Christmas! Keep going!
Yes, I'd love to join you in hoping to lose 2 lb for Christmas day. Like you say, there's two whole weeks to lose 1 lb per week, so hopefully we'll get there.
Hey girl, be happy, "YOU LOST 0.6" lbs. And you didn't gain it either. This time of year is hard to stay focused on the task at hand. With that said, "I LOST JUST OVER A STONE(I'm learning what certain words mean now. LOL Seriously though, I lost 15lbs in TWO weeks. I haven't been to the gym because of being sick and in pain. They put my account on medical hold, so I don't have to pay when I am not there. Whenever I have questions about any part of my routine, she just pats me on the back. I have cut out majority of sodas I drink 16 oz of soda with dinner. I wake up I cook omelettes: recipe for my omelette> 2 eggs, I use the whites only and throw the yolk away, cut up a lot of bell peppers, (you can use any of the colors that they have. I drink mint tea, I get my liitle YorkiePoo (she's only 4 months)ready and we hit the road walking. I have only been walking this past couple of week. Upping my walk to 2miles a day for a week. and then finally I can take BeyLah to walk the three miles every day
Congratulations on losing just over a stone - that's incredible! Well done Thanks for sharing your omelette recipe - sounds healthy and tasty too. I like omelettes too, but I use the whole egg.
I hope you feel better soon - you mentioned that you've been sick and in pain. Hopefully you'll feel better very soon.
