Hello there! I've just joined today - I'm not happy with a photo of myself (or my weight) and want to put a stop to any more slow weight gain because it has sneaked up on me! I think I'm a pretty healthy eater and I try to keep busy and exercise but at 51 it has crept up on me and I don't like it!
A stone at least is my goal if not 2 and I'll be happy
Bye for now

Hello Bubblebunny,
I am new too and feel exactly the same way.
Well done for taking the first step.
I am determined to try and make myself look and feel better.
I always thought that I ate healthily but maybe it is the portion sizes and the alcohol too!
Anyway I wish you the best of luck and hope that we will both successful and happier.
Bubblebunny , welcome to the club. I just joined the other week in much the same position as you, 49yo and well overweight without realising it! Everyone here is so supportive and full of great advice, mainly gained from personal experience.
You'll get all the help and encouragement you need to meet your goals.
Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.
Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.
Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.
We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.
To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.
This is a lovely place to be everyone is so supportive and kind
I think a photo is the best trigger to lose weight it was for me I kept the photo on my notice board in the kitchen to stop me snacking and it really worked as I was determined I wouldn't look like that again
Sounds like you don't need a lot of help to lose as you are doing all the right things already so being on here and posting will give you that extra push you need
I totally understand how you feel, I'm a healthy eater but we are what we eat!! So I've decided portion sizes need to be smaller, less snacking & right kind of snacks when needed. A little extra exercise in the mix & gradually over the next few weeks the pounds of fat will disappear!! Good luck👍
