I've decided today that if I use this as my weight loss blog then I feel like I'd have some more motivation as people would read about my journey, so hopefully I'll stick to the plan.

Today is going well at the moment, I know........ I'm only half way through day one but it's actually interesting reading the post's here and discovering how many calories are in different food's that I wouldn't think twice about usually eating. I've downloaded My Fitness Plan so I've always got my calorie counter on the go; No excuses! I was hoping to get to the gym but I've got an exhibition of my work later on so been busy with that all morning and got a few things to do before I get ready. Let's hope the rest of my day goes as good as my morning has.

Hi cmdavies, sounds like you've got a very positive attitude. Also, exciting that you have an exhibition today. I hope it goes well! One good way of finding out how many calories are in things is to enter meals into your calorie counter in advance. You then quickly find out which parts of the meal are higher calorie and can make adjustments to your portion sizes as necessary. Hi CMD - yup! we are all here reading your Blog. Good - sounds like you are getting grips with that most challenging question facing the majority of people in the western world - how much of this stuff is really good for me! I spent several weeks weighing and measuring everything and even now I go back to it and check. Calorie creep is really easy so getting on top of it is a smart thing to do.

Don worry about the Gym just focus on what you are doing right now to be the best version of yourself.

Good luck for your exhibition - is it art or photos or something else ? Glad to hear your first day is going ok. My advice is just to plan, plan, plan as much as possible - makes the calorie counting a lot easier :-)
