I have been to see my gp and have been advised to have a
vertebroplasty
where cement is injected into a injured bone, bit of a shock never heard of this, has anyone heard of this, I would have to go to a different city and be admitted for the procedure, I don't know what to do.

Please share any experience of meds to try and prevent osteoporosis especially Zoledronic acid and Romosozumab
I'm told
vertebroplasty
or kyphoplasty are not options. This has all taken me by surprise as my last DEXA scan les than 2 years ago showed my bones to be in great shape and I thought I was getting enough calcium in my diet. Thanks in anticipation.

Have I Reinvented Myself During PMR, or has Universe Done It For Me?
Realistically, working would be more than difficult, just due to the number of appointments right now, plus I face at least one more
vertebroplasty
. I manage to get around the 2nd floor flat with my walker, staying as busy as possible. Get dressed daily because that gives me a sense of wellness.

VERTEBROPLASTY OP WENT FINE - SO FAR, SO GOOD
I did not have the luxury of asking anesthesiologist about Pred dose as there wasn't one present. I was awake for the entire procedure and op nurse administered an opioid and a medication when I requested it. Very relaxed but not "high". Also an antibiotic was included and I now have the same one at

Radiotherapy near plate & screws.
Hi peeps I have a fractured L2 which is causing a lot of pain they are going to do a
vertebroplasty
procedure and also a plate & screws just above it as I also have a curved spine. The curved spine I have had most of my life and will probably just get worse with age this will strengthen it.

Another Month ........ Another Fracture!🙄
Have any of you undergone a
Vertebroplasty
procedure? If so, was it worthwhile (and was it very painful)? Has anyone else had an acute spontaneous compression fracture with no trauma? If so, how long before the pain recedes a little?

Has anyone had vertebroplasty?
Her radiologist said she spoke with a neurosurgeon who suggested that she do
vertebroplasty
in case the bone were to collapse from the radiation. I've heard that this is a pretty invasive procedure, and wanted to ask this group's thoughts on it. Thank you.

A shout out to all caregivers!
The other day I was talking to my wife while we were returning from the Mayo after a
vertebroplasty
procedure to repair a cracked T12 vertebra, when I mentioned our up coming vacation and holidays.

I had
vertebroplasty
done of the T9, T12 and L1 vertebrae bodies. I think it has helped in relieving discomfort. I also have had acupuncture treatments done on my spine, it probably has helped. I will see what the doc suggests. I am staying active, work.

vertebroplasty
. Has anyone here had this procedure done and be prepared to have a chat about it? Thanks Dom Hall, Editor, Osteoporosis News

So I had
vertebroplasty
on T8. They couldn't get the needle in T7 so I had five radiation treatments to it. I am now on a 50 mcg fetanyl patch to control the pain with Hydromorphone for break through pain. My PSA has risen to 5.35 so my medical oncologist has started me on Xtandi.
