I don't know what to do.

Hello, I am a 23 year old female and I really need some advice.

I am not sure if this is the right place to post but I hope it is.

A few months ago my Mum was reading a book about Periods and she got to the section about PCOS and immediately made me read it because the book talked about every single problem I had been having since I hit puberty.

This started the long long process of trying to get help from my doctors. I had a thyroid test 2 months ago and heard nothing about it or the ultrasound appointment I was waiting for. I rang plenty of times asking for updates but it just went around in circles. I finally got a letter 2 days ago stating my thyroid test was 'abnormal' and that my request for an ultrasound has been rejected since it is a non necessity.

So I still have no official diagnoses, I still feel like a freak and I can barely even leave my house anymore cause I feel disgusting. Can anyone recommend what I can do. I am really at a loss and I feel like its just in my head and I've wasted my time.

Im pretty sure pcos can be diagnosed via bloods as well as a scan. Have u had ur bloods taken?

Do you have any pcos signs? If you do and following scan they diagnose you i highly recommended the mirena coil. Its a coil that can release hormones as and when ur body needs as pcos is a hormome inbalance this really helped me. I did the pill for 6 plus yrs that jst made me fat the mirena really improved my physical and mental health.

Other than that i would keep phoning docs find out how to push ur scan alomg...unfortunately covid nhs wait times and pcos not being life threatening ull be at back of queue.

If u are officially diagnosed with pcos domt panic its not ideal but not the end of world xx

I would go back to your doctor and get a full blood panel done as well as a scan to check if you have cysts on your ovaries. Once you know for sure if and potentially the type of PCOS you have i'll happily help you with improving your symptoms and the next steps :)
