So I've been bleeding for 11 days non stop since last weds and taking norethisterone which isn't working for me tbh I'm fed up and just want to end the norethisterone and let all the bleeding just come out naturally .... the mirena coil didn't work and feel out on Thursday when I had it fitted ..... so now I'm waiting for an albation but all this bleeding started in Dec 7th with spotting all month but I went on norethisterone in Oct to have a break from periods again and everything went smoothly and worked perfectly fine but unfortunately they stopped working in Dec and I'm GUTTED to say the least as they where my life saver 😒 my gyno said to me Thursday gone to remain on norethisterone and have a 21 day on and 7 day break each month instead of staying on thwm straight but in all honestly I feel like ending them NOW as I feel like their just prolonging the bleeding then stopping it ..... has anyone else had this please I need reassuring as right now I feel alone in all this and struggling also ..... what would you do?

Hey, I had a year long period and norethisterone was absolutely useless for me. I'm was also limited as to what I could have because I'm TTC but I was hospitalised twice for emergency blood transfusions so had to press pause on TTC to deal with the bleeding. The only thing that has worked so far for me (and I've tried a lot of things including surgery) is an injection that kind of freezes everything for 12 weeks and you get symptoms of menopause for that time which in my case was worth it. It's not permanent and leaves no after effects. Only thing is it's not a long term solution as you can only get the Jag a few times. Hope that's useful and if you need anything else feel free to pop a message over. I felt very alone when I was going through it all too as I feel most people with PCOS have the opposite problem where they don't bleed.

Thanks for the advice ... I finally decided yesterday to end norethisterone as now I've been bleeding for 13 days and I feel that norethisterone isn't working and might be the problem to why I'm bleeding so much! If anything I feel lonely maybe it's a withdrawal bleed that's happened even though I've been taking norethisterone throughout since the bleeding occurred on the 5th Jan!!! It's been a nightmare to say the least and seems though norethisterone isn't working πŸ˜• why take them?! I'm now going to see what happens this week without the norethisterone and just see if the bleeding comes to an end or not ... if it doesn't then I'll be going back to my doctors about it

I am abit worried though atm now I've ended norethisterone and been though a big heavy bleeding since the 5th Jan.... Will the heavy bleeding come back?? Cause that would be very weird if it does cause I'm already having alot of bleeding as it is .....
