I've recently been diagnosed with PCOS after many years of trips to the docs knowing something wasn't right.
Had to say we're trying for a baby to get any ultrasound, and now on the path to fertility services, but not sure what they'll do in terms of management?
Anyone else got this diagnosis story type?

Sorry to hear that you had a long journey to find out.
Mine was the same I've always known that something wasn't right and only after pushing my GP into requesting more tests and telling them that I think I have pcos as I was TTC did they get the ball rolling.
I've had private hycosy test to check my tubes.
I've had countless Blood tests to check all you can imagine including if I'm insulin resistant etc and also had numerous transvaginal scans.
Have been TTC for 2.5 years. Have been put on the waiting list for ivf in July this year and I have this month been prescribed clomid to help me to ovulate. So I'm waiting for af to come along so I can start that and see if that works.
I’ve been diagnosed with PCOS when I was 14 and without the pill I just don’t have AF at all. When we started TTC I knew it was pointless but I had to wait to go to GP.
Got referred to fertility clinic, did all testes including hicosy and husband’s sperm tested too. All normal.
Started clomid 9 months ago increasing gradually as after a few tries I stopped ovulating. Last month was my last cycle with 150mg and now I’ve been referred to IVF but while I wait they gave me Menopure to ovulate.
I’m currently on my 2ww and testing tomorrow but had so many BFN that I don’t hold my hopes too high!
Good luck, I really hope this process starts moving a bit faster now that you have been diagnosed xx
A lot of ladies don't get diagnosed till they are TTC so you aren't alone.
PCOS generally can be managed either by the combined contraceptive pill or by a low GI diet.
We are not infertile by any means and our egg quality remains better for longer so can conceive later in life but ovulation is hit and miss. Look at the fertilityfriends website as it advises how to see if you are ovulating and what signs to look for. Also 1/3 of fertility issues are men so get your partner on the Boots Vit C and zinc tablets as it improved my husbands count and mobility by over 100% in a year!!
It is extremely rare not to conceive just due to pcos, just can take a bit longer!!
