Hi can anybody recommend a good Rheamatology consultant in either the Bristol or Gloucestershire area. I have GPA which has been controlled with regular infusions of rituximab. My previous consultant left in August, recruitment has only recently started and the post is not guaranteed to be filled for a few months. South Wales Rheamatology dept my main carers are stretched to the seams and don’t fill me with confidence. This is the reason why I’m looking to change consultant.

Many thanks in advance x

Do you live in Wales? The lupus people I know in South Wales don't get referral out of area - so private becomes their only option.

I live very close to Chepstow South Wales. Officially my village is England but the local dr surgery is Chepstow. Long story short I have the option of Wales or England when it comes to NHS care.

Thanks for replying

That's good. The Bristol rheumatology department used to be excellent - but everything changes.

Dr Ellie Korendowych at Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases (RNHRD) in Bath is just the best so are her team. So lucky to have been referred here. Good luck

Hi I'm under a consultant in Carlisle so I've no idea about other areas. Maybe someone else on here could help with that. It's very unsettling when you loose your consultant. Hope you get sorted soon because you need to be checked regularly. I still see my consultant every 2 months and it will be 4 years in January since diagnoses. Good luck. X
