I just wanted to ask or know if anyone has been advised not to fast in this month of Ramadan and will not be doing so or will still try and fast.
My consultant has said I shouldn't at all....its been 5months since I've been diagnosed. Aadmittedly when I tried weaning meds off myself I felt rough.

It must be a very difficult one for you, as I appreciate that Ramadan is very important to observe. I don't think your consultant would have given you advise lightly, but it still leaves you in a bit of a predicament doesn't it?
I don't know much about Ramadan but I though there were exceptions for illness and pregnancy. Five months with vasculitis isn't long and I would have thought you very clearly fit into the "ill" category.
Hope that helps.

I really agree with PatriciaAnn. Five months is not enough time for you body to recover.
It is correct that there are exceptions, so I'm not fasting. My family were saying the same it's too early. I only felt like I really. Wanted to as I've never missed it and so it just felt weird, but Allah did say it's never meant to do more harm to your body. So I have to feed the equivalent of 2 meals per day to the poor...works out as £150 for the month. I can still participate in other ways so I'm okay about it now.
Hi rrahman, I am suffering from a form of vasculitis too, did you know that fasting actually can reset your immune system and therefor could be healing to your (our) illness? You need to clean water fast for at least 3 to 4 days at the time better a week and repeat this about 3 times . I am on chemo therapy and my white blood cells were way down, dangerously low. I started fasting and could build them up again.
Fasting promotest a Body-cleaning-process called autophagy which absorbs dead and damaged cells and builds up new one.
