Does anybody follow a healthy eating plan or know of diets which can help this condition. I have been diagnosed and being treated for WG.

I am taking 75mg of prednisone daily and have had my first cyclophosphamide a week ago.

I have noticed some foods are not so appetising any more and wondered if there is a tried and tested diet. I have no allergies or diet requirements. Thanks.

Hi vjt

I found that my taste was effected during cyclo infusions recently. Favourite things, that I'd loved to eat all my life, suddenly tasted awful. I ended up clearing my fridge out, because even the sight of certain things would make me nauseous. Thankfully it has settled down now, & I can enjoy my food again.

Do you mean is there an advised diet during your treatment or for your WG?

Ha, thanks roobarb...I know what you mean about being nauseous, it's s bit like morning sickness. My baby is weaning at the moment so my fridge is full of healthy choices, which I try to stick to and I was wandering if anyone had ever noticed certain foods which worsened or helped their symptoms? I'm trying to avoid sugars but when I have a lull in the day and I've got to keep going I do reach for a choc or two!!

Oops, I just re read your question & realised my answer was rather contradictory!

It must be so hard for you looking after a little one whilst you are poorly & going through this treatment.

I have developed food intolerances during the course of my illness. I am going to see a NHS dietician next week, so it will interesting to hear what they have to say.

Take good care of yourself & best wishes with your treatment. X

Thank you. I would be interested in hearing if there are any foods which aggravate this condition. I have been keeping a note of foods which bother me more than others. Let me know how you get on. As for the little one...She's a privilege to have and she provides hours of joy every day! Goodness knows you need some distraction from the hospital and treatments.

Thank you for caring and best wishes to you also.x

Hi. I've discovered over time that wheat products make me feel even more fatigued etc so I cut right down on wheat based cereals and bread which I've found helpful. Got there by trial and error taking note of what I'd eaten on days I felt worse.

Hope that helps

Hi Nell, thanks for that. Sounds like I'm doing something similar. Yes, I have found gluten makes me sluggish too.

Cheers!
