There’s a raft of information on MTX on the PMRGCAuk forum in our FAQs. With PMR and/or GCA it’s sometimes taken in conjunction with Prednisolone…

Hi,I take methotrexate for LVV and no other meds.I have been on it for 2 years. For the first 6 months I didn’t feel any different and then the fatigue started along with mouth ulcers hair thinning and a very low b12 count.I felt as if I couldn’t be bothered with anything.I always took MTX after breakfast as I understood it was best to take it after food.Around 6 months ago I changed my routine and took it mid to late morning and the difference it made to the way I feel was like chalk to cheese.Worked for me,not sure if it will help you but could be worth a try.I also take folic acid for 3 days after MTX day.
Hi I was the same now I take mine before bed and now been on MTX 7, years and taking that time of night really helped me good luck stay strong
I take my Methotrexate after my evening meal. For me, it knocks me out and I sleep most of the next day as well. I take folic acid 6 days a week too. I've been taking mine for 6 years, started with a morning dose but advised evenings are better to sleep off the worst side effects.
A comforting post from you! I take mine after evening meal on Thursday. Really wiped out this week - started a walk on Friday and so slow and stiff round the park. Steps were like a 104 year old. 🤣. Yesterday wasn’t much better - hope today is. Should one drink lots of water … perhaps I’m not drinking enough of that??
Every week is different for me. Some weeks so exhausted, and others much better. Even after all this time i never know how I'll react. On a positive, it seems to be working! Take care.
