It is good that we can all support one another, even if sometimes we don't have the exact same symptoms/problems.

Hi - I'm new to all this myself. I just read your previous post and thought my own experience might help. I've been on thyroxine since the end of Oct last year. TSH was 5.6. Started on 50mg and apart from stopping my heart racing out of control it made little difference. Still very depressed and feeling so ill I was virtually bed bound.

Went back to my GP in Jan and had another blood test. TSH down to 2.5. GP said it was ok now and I didn't need to increase the thyroxine. I said "aren't we aiming for a TSH of 1 once I'm on the medication".

My GP said I could raise it if I wanted - he asked if I wanted to raise by 25mg or 50mg. I opted for 25 initially.

5 days later I felt totally different. Still couldn't go out but stopped feeling so ill I couldn't function.

Last week I raised again to 100mg. Again, 5 days later I started feeling even better. I have been out twice this week. Only for short outings, but at least I can now get out.

I have no idea what my TSH level is now, but I do know that at 2.5 I wasn't feeling better.

If your GP is totally useless my personal suggestion would be to try Kelp and NutriThyroid. You can buy these legitimately online with no prescription needed.

I am now taking thyroxing 100mg, vit B12 spray, 1 tablet each of nutrithyroid, nutriadrenal and kelp along with a multivitamin tablet.

I still have a way to go.

always .......but ALWAYS remember that while there are all of US good people out ther [including you] no one is ever on ther own and we can all help others in our own little way because ther will be a time when you can help someone as you have been helped now.....keep the faith in humanity and be guided by your own experiences......that way YOU will give good advice good help and above all support to others that are in desperate need of YOU .....i live by one main ethos-------what goes around comes around or if you help someone at some point someone WILL help you when you really need it-------it has always worked for me.........i have more true friends from this ethos than i have ever made in my entire liftime--------please try it !!!!!!!!! it may surprise you
