Thank You

A big thank you for all the help I have been given on this site. I changed from Levo and T3 to NDT, bought from Thailand, nearly 3 months ago. I couldn't have done it without the advice given by the kind people here.

I feel so much better, hopefully will never go back to Levo. I am due a blood test next week, the first since taking NDT, will await the results with interest!

Again, many thanks. x

I am glad that you have improved a lot on NDT and if we self-medicate we can adjust dose to alleviate symptoms when necessary. Your doctor may be puzzled by your blood test results, as levo is T4 only and NDT contains all of the hormones.

Yes, adjusting the dose is key. The advice that helped the most was to GO SLOWLY. I started on half a grain and was awake all night, reduced it to a quarter for two weeks or so and then increased a quarter of a grain at a time until after nearly 2 months was on 2 1/2 grains. This was a little too much for me so back down to 2 grains. I don't like giving my age but was born in 1947 and haven't felt so well since I don't know when.

How wonderful to read a success story :D I am so pleased for you! And thank you for the encouragement that it's possible to get your life back! I've been upping my levo dose and feeling worse all the time, so have just decided to try T3 instead. Reading your post has put a big smile on my chops this morning :D

ShinyB,

Why don't you try adding some T3 to Levothyroxine first?
