I’m now one month post partum and my results are still low (T4)

I’m still on thyroid s - 3 grains

results are:

T4

12 (12-22)

T3

5.2 (3.1-6.8)

TSH

0.244

0.27 - 4.2

Ferritin

124 (30-207)

Vit D

98 (50-250)

b12

150

(37-187)

Based on my results is a dose raise an option?

Hi  HarrietJW ! Sorry, I don’t have a recommendation, but I was wondering—did you face any pushback from your GP or doctors during pregnancy because of a low/suppressed TSH while taking T4/T3?

Did they ask you to stop T3, citing risks to the pregnancy?

I’m currently on levo with added T3, and my TSH is suppressed. My GP was very concerned and strongly urged me to stop the T3 and lower my T4 right away.

Thank you!

yes they did but I explained that sorting out my thyroid (and taking T3) was a big contributor to me getting pregnant in the first place. I said I wasn’t willing to stop it and they left me alone. Hope that helps! Are you in UK?

Thanks for sharing! That helps! Yes, I'm in the UK.

The GP basically kind of said like along the lines of the T3 and pregnancy doesn't go together and I should stop taking T3 immediately and lower my T4 dosage back down to 87.5mcg, similar to October levels where the TSH (and FT4) was totally in range while I was experiencing increasing fatigue, cold intolerance and brain fog and was only productive about half the time for work - and I didn't know what was wrong with me despite a series of other blood test checks that turned out fine😅 Only when I increased my dosage on my own initiative did I finally feel better....(I felt he chose to overlook that fact and was too hyperfocused on the TSH.)

This recommendation came about all because my TSH right now is totally suppressed and after speaking to the senior doctor and endocrinologist, that I'm being overtreated for my thyroid. And if I should continue, this could be posing a risk for the pregnancy.

I'm hoping they will leave me alone too, when the time comes.
