Hi Jrjc
Were these test results from now or before your last dose increase? If before your last dose increase 10 weeks ago, you should retest and see where you are now. If tests were done now and after dose increase 10 weeks ago, you would need a further increase of 25mcg Levo and retest in 6-8 weeks to see if further increase required.
You should also get your Vit B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate tested as you are likely to be low. If doc won't do them, you can get your own done and people here can tell you where to get them done.
If you already have them, then post results here in aother thread as docs tend to be a little pants in this area
Each dose increase takes 6 weeks to get into your system so if these results are 10 weeks after a dose increase then these are showing the increase. However if they have t changes much from a previous test then something else may be wrong. It could be something simple like starting another new drug and taking it too close to your thyroid meds.
Have a look at the Thyroid Uk site who run this forum. There are some pointers that you may well not be aware of. Doctors rarely know or advise on this so well worth having a look and see if anything else could be a problem.
Hi I take no other meds and results were after dose reduced thanks
Sorry just seen those, then you need to sack the doc if they said no further action as they clearly are stupid! They would diagnose someone with those results never mind an increase so that is appalling they would leave your tsh so high. Complain to the practice manager quoting these results and the NICE guidelines on thyroid!
Also post all other results you have
Your TSH should be around 1, not 10.
So you are now on 100mcg and these results from that dose
What was dose reduced from? Do you have results from then? If so post them
Were you also taking T3 and had this stopped?
You are very under medicated and need immediate increase by 25mcgs, retesting in 6-8 weeks
See a different GP if at all possible
Dose reduced from 200mcg levothyroxine
TSH 0.08 (0.2 - 4.2
Free T4 19.3 (12 - 22)
Free T3 4.0 (3.1 - 6.8)
You were NOT over medicated
Both FT4 and FT3 were within range. With Hashimoto's we quite often need a TSH very low
Your FT3 was still quite low, showing poor conversion. This may improve when gluten free, plus essential to get vitamins at optimal levels.
So you will need to increase Levo dose in 25mcg steps, retesting after 6-8 weeks. Increasing until TSH back nearer one
Follow SeasideSusie vitamin supplements advice. Changing to gluten free diet too
Once this is much better and stable you may still find T3 is a bit low and may need the addition of small amount of T3
