Medichecks opinion please

Hello

Thank you for your great advice to my last message. I got a Medichecks test and increased my dose myself to 50mg levothyroxine although I still don't feel great. The report said there is still scope to increase my levothyroxine. I hope my GP agrees when I see him in 2 weeks. Does the autoimmunity results mean my hypothyroidism is not Hashimoto's? Kind of surprised. What might be the cause of mine? I also have Stage 2 (therefore mild) chronic kidney disease, so could they be liked? Sorry lots of questions 😊

TSH 3.95 (0.27-4.2)

Free T3 4.1 (3.1-6.8)

Free thyroxine 15.5 (12-22)

Thyroglobulin Antibodies 20.1 (0-115)

Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies 13 (0-34)

CRP 0.93 (<3)

Ferritin 52 (30-264)

Folate >45.4

B12 >150

Vit D 96

Thank you in advance and thank you for this great community. I would feel so lost without you all.

How long had you been on 50mcg before you tested

Was test early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

20% of Hashimoto's patients never have raised antibodies

Hi, I had been on 25mg for 3 months but only two weeks on 50mg before private testing. It was before 8am having only had water and it was over 24 hours since my last dose and any supplements. Thank you so much for the articles. I increased my dose to 50mg ahead of seeing my GP because the GP results indicated I could in the supplementary notes. I was getting so weak and tired again that I was struggling to do my job.

Retest after 8 weeks on 50mcg

Very likely ready for next increase by then up to 75mcg daily

CKD may well improve and resolve once thyroid levels are good
