Hi all,
I've never posted test results before but have had some strange ones, so thought I'd ask you all before I see my endo in three weeks. I'll go from most recent and give 2+ years history. My endo was concerned about my glucose level (a bit high, which she didn't notice at a previous appt. a year ago) and so tested that again. I am in Poland so the ranges may vary from what you are used to; I will give any context there is, translated into English. I take a good range of vitamins and supplements and usually remember to not take them right before a test. (This last time I actually didn't take any for a week as hadn't filled my pill boxes.) I always going in fasting and never take Levo on test day. Thank you in advance for comments, suggestions or questions I should ask my doctor. Patient requested private testing is fairly limited here but some thyroid tests can be done. I have basic private health care through work, which covers some but not all of my tests (I had to pay 180zł, about 35GBP (but that'd be like you paying well over 100GBP for that) for 3 tests last week. My GP on the public system can only request TSH for bloods, anything else needs to come from an endo. My endo poopooed my request for FT3 last time, saying it's not useful or needed. (She's gotten worse since I first went to her over 10 years ago - too much sitting behind a computer with "AI" diagnostic system I suspect.) I was diagnosed about 16 years ago as hypo. Been on Levo and gaining weight ever since. Sorry this is so long but needed to give some background.
22.11.24
Glucose: 94 (70-99mg/dl acc. to PDT) (this is down from 100 a year ago)
Ferritin: 123.6 ug/l (10-291) (Lab comment:in inflammatory conditions, with significant tissue damage, in liver disease, in malignant tumours and when treated with iron supplementation, ferritin levels are elevated and do not reflect the body's actual iron stores.)
TSH 2.553 (.55-4.78 mIU/I) (NOTE: My endo decreased my T4 dose from 100mcg to 100 on weekends and 88 during the week.)
fT4 17.67 (>21 years 11.5-22.7 pmol/l)
Lab comment: Ferritoin can alter the levels of total and free T4. FT4 levels may decrease in patients with conditions that do not involve the thyroid gland, as well as in patients taking carbamazepine. Serum thyroid autoantibodies may interfere with and falsely overestimate T4 levels. Caution: assay susceptible to interference from biotin. Material should be collected from persons treated with high doses of biotin (B7/Vit H) at least 24 h after the last administration of biotin. (BTW, I'm not taking this)
Lab comment: Glycated haemoglobin 5.5 (3-4.7%: Possibility of shortened erythrocyte survival (haemolytic anaemias, abnormal haemoglobins, 4.8-6.0%: Value for persons without diabetes, 6.1-6.9: Properly managed diabetes, >=7.0: Inadequate control of glycemia, >=6.5%: Diabetes, in persons not previously diagnosed with diabetes
eAG 107 mg/dl (estimated mean GLUCOSE concentration according to ADA and AACC recommendations)
HbA1c (IFCC) 37 mmol/mol (29-42: Value for persons without diabetes)
HbF 0.2 %
Insulina 5.68 (3.0-25.0 mU/I) Insulin autoantibodies in human serum can interfere with results and cause discrepancies.
25-OH-D (metabolic Vit. D) 30.8 ng/ml (100 - risk of toxicity
(NOTE: I take 4000iu Vit D, so this seems very low to me.)
05.06.24
TSH 0.629 (.55-4.78 mIU/I) (Taking 100mcg here)
FT4 19.27 (dr. did not give me FT3 test)
19.01.24
TSH 1.578
FT4 17.17
FT3 4.95 (3.5-6.5 pmol/I) (taking 100mcg)
29.09.23
Glucose 100 (see above for ref)
TSH 0.093 (in red on the test result!) -taking 100mcg 5 days/wk, 112mcg on weekends
FT4 24.17 (also in red, too high) (11.5-22.7 range) (My doctor told me that when TSH is very low, FT4 will be very high) As can be seen, better in the test after this.)
FT3 6.08
I have other regular blood test results but won't put those in.
29.12.22 (private lab)(had returned to Poland and basically self-treating as had no health insurance yet)
My Vit D is slightly lower than it was the last time tested - 31,9.
TSH - 0.461 (0.35-0.494)(different lab)
FT4 - 1.1 ng/DL (0.7-1.48 -completely different than above)
21.11.2021 (private lab) (returned to 100 - 5day/wk, 112/weekends
TSH 0.201 (range as previous)
FT3 3.0 (1.58-3.91)
FT4 1.13 (range as previous)
ATG 1.25 (<4.11)
ATPO 1.07 (<5.61)
08.07.21 (returned from UK, still on the 75mcg dose given there)(on which I was always tired, very poor GPs!)
TSH 5.614 (0.550-4.78) NOTE: the only time on Levo I've ever had such a high result. Not sure why that was.
FT3 3.3
FT4 1.39
ATG <15 (range: <60)
ATPO <28 (range: <60)
