I just had my blood tests done.

TSH: 1,74 0,27-4,20

Ft4: 15 11-22

Ft3:4,7 3,1-6,8

My consultant decided to stop Carbimazole. What do you think would be best to do at this time? I am taking vitamin B12, K2 spray, Mega magnesium.

I also have only 50 kilos at this time and poor sleeping. My weight is going up and down all the time. Any suggestions will be welcomed.

Retest thyroid and vitamin levels 6-8 weeks after stopping

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

Hello again :

How are your eyes now ?

Are you still being monitored by the ophthalmologist and do the endocrinologist and eye specialist work together in trying to find the best way forward and ease your symptoms ?

Your blood test results are in range -

Your TSH is not suppressed so take this to mean the Graves antibodies are not active and this phase of Graves over and your immune system has calmed back down again.

Your T4 is around 36% through its range with your T3 at around 43% through its range :

Once the AT drug - Carbimazole - is fully out of your system your own new daily thyroid hormone production should increase both T3 and T4 to around mid point in the ranges -

with a T4 at around 50% and the T3 tracking just behind at around 45% through the ranges-

Ideally the T3 should be lower than the T4 in % terms through the ranges -

We need follow up blood tests to check your TSH - T3 and T4 in around 8 weeks time and hope by then your T3 and T4 levels have adjusted themselves with the T4 higher in the range than the T3. - and with you feeling more comfortable.

During any phase of ill health the body is under extra stress - and we do need to maintain our core strength at optimal levels to help support ourselves better -

so just for reference - I know now I need to maintain my ferritin at around 100 - folate at around 20 - active B12 at around 125 ( serum B12 500++ ) and vitamin D at around 125 -

so suggest you get these 4 key vitamins and minerals run as these may need maintaining -

I hope you will start to feel more comfortable in yourself but it can be a slow build back - so just go one step at a time and don't expect too much too soon.

Hello pennyannie,

My eyes are fine now. Right, I started cutting back my dosage to 0,25 mg as of Sunday. I have to say that I feel tired, some anxiety. I already got rid of these and I want to never get them again. I will try to see how it all works out. I will continue with my supplements. Thank you
