estratest generic (EEMT)

just switched from estradiol patch to generic estratest (EEMT) . Also on Synthroid. Does anyone know how soon I should recheck thyroid levels after making the change. I know that oral EEMT can affect thyroid levels. I am feeling so much more fatigued .

I'd not looked up Estratest before and the first page I read was pretty off putting 😕 is there a reason for using this rather than the body identical transdermal options?

What were your last thyroid results?

yes there is a reason. My estradiol levels were fluctuating too much on the patch.

Prior to the change my tsh 1.57, tt4 10.8 , ft4 1, ft3 2.3, tt3 83

Yes I didn't' get along well with patches but found the other body identical transdermal more effective and easier to tweak the dose

Have you got the ranges for these results? Did you follow the testing protocol, early draw, fasted, 24hours after last dose?

Could the ranges be the same as 10 months ago?...

TSH 1.57 mIU/L (0.45 - 4.5) 27.7%

Free T4 (fT4) 1 pmol/L (0.8 - 1.8) 20.0%

Free T3 (fT3) 2.3 pmol/L (2 - 4.4) 12.5%

Very low levels

different lab I believe.

Tsh .4-4.0

Ft3 2.3-4.2

Ft4 .71-1.51

Tt3 60-180

Tt4 4.5-11.5

Ah ok...

TSH 1.57 mIU/L (0.4 - 4) 32.5%

Free T4 (fT4) 1 pmol/L (0.71 - 1.51) 36.3%

Free T3 (fT3) 2.3 pmol/L (2.3 - 4.2) 0.0%

Low fT4 ideally nearer 80% with fT3 not too far behind so your fT3 is very low

and this is before adding in the Estratest which could well lock things up a little more

Yes that was my thoughts. It’s only been 2 weeks since the change to estratest. I have asked my doctor for a preset to check thyroid levels to see if they have been affected.

What dose of Synthyroid are you on as it certainly needs an increase, I thought you were previously also on Cytomel?

Synthroid 50.

I didn’t do well on cytomel either.

So that is a very low dose which is why your levels are so low
